What an absolutely fabulous place to hang one's head. For those looking to spend time in an absolutely gorgeous venue with a more than accommodating host and his two wonderful dogs, Lola and Tiny, rush right over to Shoyswell and spend some quality time in the country. And what a breakfast! It was enough for breakfast and lunch. We absolutely loved our stay and we will be back.

Elegant Comfort

What a special little B&B in the heart of beautiful East Sussex. The cottage has been redone to the nth degree, and the whole place oozes good taste and warmth. My room was decorated in resplendent Oriental decor, and the bathroom featured a shower with fittings that worked beautifully. I had a lovely terrace right outside my room, from which I could view the pond and the ducks as well as the extensive grounds. The host was delightful and helpful, and the adorable resident pooches were a major bonus. My breakfast was unspeakably delicious, and the dining room, like all of the cottage, was just lovely. The location is in the heart of a tourist-friendly garden-rich area, with many nearby places to visit and enjoy the scenery. Definitely a place to which to return.

A fantastic place to relax and enjoy nature

I highly recommend a visit at the Shoyswell Cottage. This place is lovely. Very well taken care off, generous, and located in gorgeous nature. There is a garden (well, more a park actually!) which invites to relax and enjoy the silence out there. A little pond with fishes and ducks is surrounded by large lawn with really beautiful old trees. The whole house is in a top condition, very clean, rooms are providing a high standard, and the owners are happy to help with any wish you have. I enjoyed a fantastic breakfast after a night on the terrace sitting at a fire bowl with my work colleagues. Even being there only for one night felt like having a week of vacation. We had a great environment there for a strategic business meeting. So I can only leave a top rating for this venue and recommend it strongly. I will definitely go back there privately to enjoy this place, and also to meet the lovingly owners Lawrence and Jolyon there again!

I didn't stay here in 2016, it was a few years before and can't remember the date, but I still clearly remember the name of the cottage because it was such a fabulous place, stunning scenery, fantastic hosts, great breakfast, sublime decor, the list is endless and there isn't a single thing I could fault them on. Fantastic stay! Would love to come again, just not with the bloke I was with last time! 😂 honestly can't recommend them enough. Hope it's still the same owners!

My wife and I stayed there last weekend when we had a wedding in the area. The reviews on here sold it to us and everything that is said positively about this place is true. Lovely service, lovely cottage, beautiful rooms and all round just prefect. Joylon was a great boost and did an awesome brekkie the next morning. You won't be disappointed! We wish we could have stayed longer.
