What People are saying

okay room

001bunny13on 22/08/2017 11:50

In the room the beds were very comfortable for the price and was a great sleep. The indoor pool and hot tub is 24 hours sounds awesome but the area was very dirty my whole 4 night stay and no towels let alone the pool was freezing. Small hike to complimentary breakfast since in another building but tasted good. Outside my room there was also a small mouse dead on the wall which was the weirdest thing I have yet to see at a hotel. For the weekly price I paid I would have found a nicer place to stay for the same price.

Run Forrest run.....

Hope Ton 14/08/2017 23:40

Where to start...... I could literally write a book on this place?
Blood on the sheets......
Refrigerator broke.........
2 of the 3 lights broke......
Returning from Dollywood only to be locked out of our room.....
1980 furniture.........
No manger on site............
Kept my socks on........dirty carpet

We have never felt a dirtier, outdated, and unfriendly hotel as this one, that was ranked 3 stars! Run Forrest run!

We travel to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg at least once a year and usually stay in one of the cabins. But when a spur of the moment trip happens in peek season those cabins are usually booked so we thought we would try a hotel on the parkway.

I should have known when most of the "good" hotels are booked to just forget it, but the family insisted.
So I looked and looked....Shular Inn came up as a 3 star hotel with some good feedback with a decent price.....i said ok, not going to be as good as a well known hotel but seems ok, Wrong!

I booked online through their website and later realized they offer two room suites so I called to ask more info (it is actually the old style hotel adjoining rooms) and was greeted by a very sarcastic lady that stated "you booked through the website and their is nothing we can do " ohhh boy, here is the 3 star customer service. afterwards I realized why....the immediately charge your card for the first night when you book and once you check in the whole amount is charged then, not upon departure. Maybe that's because there is no room service or any other charges.

Ok so we actually get to the hotel and ask to see the room......"ummm they are all busy right now would you like to wait"? With that being said we went ahead and took the room(I know right, we should be running away at this point).

Yuck, yuck, and more yuck!
You know the old saying "don't judge a book by its cover"? That can go both ways....it looks pretty but underneath ohhh so yucky! And they told us we were in the NEW part, What?

Well guess what....we went to the indoor pool; which is in the older building, and yep you could tell we were definitely staying in the new building. Lol. (I hope this does not need explained)!

After the pool, which you should bring your own pool towels, was bed time. That's when we discovered the spot on the bed sheets.
I pulled the thin blanket off and discovered a reddish brown streak down the end of the bed on the top white sheet, ugh!

We immediately called the front desk .....will send someone right up......great! Well 30 minutes later still no show. By this time I had done given up on the place and took my daughter back to the pool. Eventually the front desk gentleman and a younger gentleman showed up and started changing sheets and looking an the non operational fridgerator.....my husband then after being upset just ask them to leave and I would make the bed and not to worry about the fridge.

Next morning was breakfast then to Dollywood, ok if your ok with carbs.....no fresh fruit but biscuits, gravy, eggs, sausage, waffles, and cereal. After returning late to the hotel our key card did not work...called front desk and waited....and waited....and waited.

Glad our stay was over the next morning!

No Sleep

I feel bad giving them a poor review because the staff was absolutely wonderful but the room we had smelled horrible as if the plumbing was going to back up or it recently had. I didn't get a good nights sleep the whole time we were there. I traveled with my 17 year old son and for those who have kids you know they can sleep anywhere
but even he had little sleep due to the beds, they were not comfortable at all. The other thing was the carpets they were nasty they really need a good shampooing but in their defense I did see a large number of carpets that looked as though they might have been in the process of replacing them.

Amazing place!

I am a picky person when it comes to hotels! I read and reread reviews! This place was totally awesome! Great location, amazing ladies at the front desk! And we visited everyday with questions or to ask for directions and they were always smiling and very nice!! Rooms was great had a kitchette with everything you could possibly need! Housekeeping staff very friendly! The first morning the hair dryer was making a funny noise called front desk and with in 10 mins had a new one! Full breakfast everyday!! Saving you $$$! 2 pools/ 2 hot tubs! Very kid friendly! Lots of couples and families staying here! Lots of parking. Easy access to the main Parkway! Everything about this hotel was great! Will defiantly stay here again!! The picture is the view from the back building, looking at "The Island" across the street. Loved it very quite and peaceful!!

Nice Hotel but not enjoyable

Karen Ton 06/08/2017 16:55

We moved here our second night due to problems with our first hotel. Loved it super clean nice atmosphere. 2 pools and great service, but first night we finally had to call around 11:30pm cause air was not working. Promptly changed us to another room. But next night we came to our room at 11:00pm and key wouldn't work(now we are last room, top floor, at the second building, couldn't be father away from front desk) walked to front desk, came back key still didn't work, walked to front desk again, came back key still didn't work. This time we refused to make a 3rd trip to front desk. Called and finally got in. But 2 nights of being worn out and tired and major problems with our room. Just didn't make our nights enjoyable.
