32 ReviewsSikandra Palace - surrounded by thousands of flowering lotus, are truly made for emperors. Each is approximately 50 yards long. One end contains three/four bedrooms fit for royalty - each with bathroom and dressing room and all the conveniences necessary for private matters and elegant dressing.Each room has a hand-crafted ceiling and hand-carved cedar panelled walls. The floors and corridor are thickly covered with traditional and colourful Kashmir rugs and carpets. At the other end of the palace there is a huge living room and dining room with similar proportions. Each of these is again totally panelled with hand-carved cedar?this time with ornate designs backed by coloured lights providing dramatic effects with the main lights turned off.

rebeccarolon 03/07/2017 19:20If you plan to visit Srinagar there is literally no better place to stay than Sikandra Palace. We have felt so welcome from day one! Bashir and his lovely family and friends are so welcoming and genuinely care about you having a great experience in their home. We ended up staying an extra few nights after planning a trekking trip to the himalayas(which was also incredible). Nothing was ever a problem to the family, I feel really lucky to have met such nice people. The only complaint is that I didn't stay longer! I will definitely be back :)
Great boat to enjoy Kashmir
LucasCNon 28/06/2017 18:47I stayed in Sikandra Houseboat during my second time in India. They have a great service ''on board''. All the treatment since we got off the airport until the end of the trip it was great.
I woul hight recommend this place for other travallers.
The BEST Place to Stay
Christian Don 22/06/2017 16:43Your time at Sikandra Palace will be the highlight of your trip! My time there felt like something out of a storybook. The houseboat itself is beautiful and comfortable, the food is delicious and authentic, the surrounding lake is like something out from a postcard, but the people are what make this experience unforgettable. I truly felt like I had found a second family. These are people who genuinely care about you and your stay in their home. If you would like a boat ride, a visit to the local mosque, a shopping trip into town, a tour of the Mughal gardens, a trek into the mountains, or even connections to other parts of India, they will help you plan and arrange it. I can't imagine a trip to Srinigar without having experienced a stay at Sikandra Palace!

I will always miss tea time!!

Janira Pon 14/06/2017 22:26I had a wonderfull time at the Sikandra Palace house boat. Its clean, the view is amazing, the food very tasty and the owner is really kind. It´s perfect for couples or to spend some relaxing time alone. I will defenitly come back! :)
