Unique B&B experience
Alessandra Don 27/05/2017 02:54This "find" was nearly accidental as originally we were not going to Farmington, NM.
I would recommend Diane and David's place very highly , but not to the most usual reasons. Silver Adobe is a step " out of the box" - a family homestead in its 28th year of bed and breakfasting travelers.
This Inn is truly an in......come the weary traveler - an invitation to check your iphone, computer, and usual TV nightly news. This Inn is a chance - if for only a moment- to regain your self-connection, and perhaps to feel the spiritual essence of the Southwest.
Whatever your reason, pick this place to unwind ( no newspapers or TV available),
check into the internet in a common room only, wake up in the morning to the flowing San Juan River out your windows, and if not for the intrusion of the high-tension wire far off in the view, sit by the river and meditate on the far-off peaks to the West.
The family homestead, made into a three-room inn, is intimate and inviting. The couple (who have been there so long you know they understand themselves), have never lost a strong connection to their heritage. Diane and David are delightful and solicitous. We changed our trip plan thanks to David's knowledge of the Flagstaff area and feel eternally grateful.
My husband and I will probably not return to this area of the Southwest, but if you are going west from NM to Arizona, this B&B is a special treat if you are willing to let go of technology for 24 or 48 hours. Farmington itself was a cultural painting we could forego in the future. On the other hand, we believe that if we had had more time with these gracious inn-keepers, we would perhaps have a new opinion.
Cannot recommend this experience enough. Risk it and go!
Second Stay
daleglideon 11/05/2017 02:50This is the second time we've stayed at the Silver River Adobe Inn and It was just as we remembered 8 years before. Dianna and David were wonderful host. The food was fresh and tasty. The only thing that had changed was the traffic on the main street had increased over the years.
It's a great place to stay, visit and relax.
31marthason 11/05/2017 02:21We've stayed with Diana and David several times, and would not consider any other place. They are hospitable, interesting and informative. The room and view are perfect. We needed to extend our stay, and they were extremely accommodating.
super!
P3173MWnancypon 28/04/2017 20:57Lovely site and home, a bit quirky (nicely so), and very out-of-the-way along a river (and yet, somehow, just off the highway). Good breakfast, comfortable and attractive accommodations with an absolutely beautiful stall shower (!), and hosts who are friendly and extraordinarily interesting.
On the banks of the San Jose River
