Bruce Son 29/06/2017 22:21The worst managed Resort in St. Maarten. Marcel is with out a doubt the worst resort Manager in Pelicans long history. His manner and the way he operates with resort guests is unacceptable. If he's in charge of spending the owners money we need to find new management so that our money is spent properly. Are yearly maintenance fees are much to expensive for what they give us. They even charge for use of the gym and decent WiFi. I believe that things need maintenance, but how many times do you paint the same thing between May and December. The parking for our unit in the Marina Building was filled with Local peoples cars and empty boxes. Whenever we visit the pool it's been occupied by local residents. I've waited patiently for a Royal Resort Management team member to hear my complaints and after 6 weeks of waiting decided to vent my frustrations on Trip Advisor hoping that any future guests will not experience what I did. When I last spoke to Marcel, he acted like I wasn't telling the truth. The two lady Mangers on staff. Teresa and Veronica are very empathetic with guest complaints and try everything they can to satisfy the guests. Jovanny who is no longer there was always convenient to any problems the guests experience. I visit this resort at least 2 times a year for the last 30 plus years. As I said before I'm in to deep financially based on the high yearly maintenance fees. It's not worth selling it.
Enjoyed Our Stay
Alicia Mon 27/06/2017 21:44We recently stayed in the Flamboyant Building at Simpson Bay Resort. The rooms are completely redone and very nice! Only complaint is the mosquitos, the balcony would be nice if it was screened in...otherwise, bring lots of bug spray! The swim up bars are nice and the grounds are generally clean and staff is very friendly.
Good Place Near SXM in St. Maarten

It is very near the airport and has lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance. The views are spectacular and the grounds are lovely. Our unit was a suite that included a full kitchen.
Peaceful stay
AyanahGWon 25/06/2017 23:55Always a pleasure! It was not my first time there. The staff is friendly and helpful. They seem to be always trying to improve their guests experience. I got a room looking over the ocean and I was breath taking. I do recommend the resort to any one, whether business related or holiday experience.
Families ONLY!!!
universehoon 25/06/2017 15:28This is a huge resort w/over 250 chambres for FAMILIES. It's really not for single people aseveeything is geared to families from the checkout time to beach towels. It's like being in a Beehive.
The chambres are large w/Two double beds, connecting rooms, fridge, microwave, toaster, dishes, pots & pans. The bathroom is separate from the vanities. It's a lot if space w/no charm. Think Big Resort.....you're just a number.
Wifi is free but terribely slow, especially in the lobby. Hallways seem more like you're walking down a hospital cooridor.
There is a car rental, tour desk, jewerly & coffee shop in the lobby.
The check-in was horrible! They require a room deposit when you arrive, even though the chambre was PAID for prior to arrive.
I'm not a Family person so I definitely will not go again.
