Graduation weekend!

KWSBBHon 20/06/2017 20:28

Had trouble finding a room in the area that would comfortably fit our family of four. Luckily we found a room at the Simsbury 1820 House that had two king beds, perfect! From our initial conversation on the phone with Kai to our departure goodbye with Pam the staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The room was large and clean. My son loved the pillows! He mentioned when we arrived home that it was good to be home but he will miss the pillows at the Simsbury 1820 House! Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, a very generous continental breakfast. Will be back again!

Beautiful Bed and Breakfast

Very clean, and cosy. Beautifully kept. Beautiful queen canopy bed in our room and old world charm of marble bathroom. Staff was extraordinarily nice. Huge mirror next to bed in our room. Lovely room. Heavy duvet and puffy pillows makes you want to stay in bed.

Fabulous stay with a little American history

We chose this hotel as a base whilst visiting suppliers in Connecticut. What a perfect choice and one we will remember and return. The house is a fabulous old imposing wooden property in the centre of Simsbury built by a wealthy businessman the town and investors returned it to its former glory but as a hotel. Off the main road it has a position up a small drive keeping traffic and noise away from the property and giving the feel of being at a house in the countryside. The hotel is split into two parts the main house and the coach house both are beautifully decorated with period furniture four poster beds and all the amenities you need for a very relaxing comfortable stay. There is a huge porch area / veranda to dine or enjoy relaxing with friends or partners, we also chose to use it for breakfast. The history of the houses past if everywhere and I felt privileged to stay in such a place. We didn't dine in the restaurant as we were on business and entertained most evenings. The menu looked really great so one to look forward to on my next visit. Great for business. Fabulous for couples. Staff were friendly professional and fun and ready to help advise us on the local area.
Highly recommended

AMAZING & COMPASSIONATE

Pam and her staff are incredible. I have traveled all over the U.S, and have never found a more lovely staff. My daughter is ill and I came in from Florida for an extended stay. Pam had delivered to me soothing bath salts at least twice. I was in executive for a 5 star resort, but have never been really treated like this ever. Thank you Pam and you staff. I will never stay any
other place beside the Simsbury House when I visit our 5 children and 9 grandchildren. Love you all

Clean and quaint

This was such a cute quaint hotel. It felt like someone's house and the room was extremely clean. It was well decorated and had everything we needed. There was not a moment in which I felt that I was not comfortable. The wifi was free with good connection. The breakfast was in a nice small lobby where the owner was friendly and made conversation with us. There was also artwork on display/for sale from a local artist which I enjoyed. The hotel at the restaurant had good ratings for those looking to eat conveniently, but there are also a variety of food places right down the street.
