Wat a downer!

I had high expectations frm tis hotel but it all went down the drain frm the moment i checked in. The hotel jus has umbrellas as a coverage to take u to the room. I was drenched half way by the time i reached the room, not to mention the moss laid puddles on the way which made the walk very dangerous.
The room was one of the worse i have stayed in, felt as if no one has bothered to clean or even check it for a long time. Damp all over, dirty floor, bathroom full of black ants and an empty fridge (since the hotel doesnt have room service, they should have had a well-stocked mini-bar and snacks). The food at the restaurant was decent but the same wasnt the case for the b/f. I asked for lime wedges to which the person serving said, 'we have an in-house tree but no lime rite now'😆
On the whole, it was ₹5000 (+tax) gone down the drain, i would pay less than half to stay here.

We had booked this place based on the great reviews . Little did we know that we had set our expectations too high . The pictures on the site are based on when the hotel was probably very new because the property currently , though lush and vast , with spacious rooms is not well maintained . The rooms need fresh paint inside and out, wall paper needs to be removed from the head boards and some pest control needs to be done as you will notice cockroaches / centipedes and other bugs .

When we reached the resort all the wildlife sanctuaries nearby were closed and there were no sight seeing places that were open due to the monsoon season. The resort boasts of badminton / table tennis / game room but they are all in a dilapidated Condition .

The only feather in the cap is the staff that are very friendly and hospitable and the food is excellent .

Hope the management can spend some money to update the rooms and services .

Away from crowd..huge property

We stayed for 3 days for a business trip. We loved the huge property. The food quality was good,though not the best. The varities they provided in breakfast was commendable. We really enjoyed the breakfast session everyday. There are 2-3 lawns. One swiming pool. A few indoor game facilities. The service provided there was really very good. We mostly loved the location of the property, calm and quiet, away from all the hussle bussles of the city.
Though the propery is being taken care of, still it demands more maintenance.
Being there during monsoon was really a bliss!

Pleasant stay with soothing environment and great food.

Had a great time here at Sinclair's. Food is excellent (thanks to Joydeep the chef). A very pleasant time spend here. Sceneic beauty is lovely. Well maintained and staffs are very well trained. Most companies do their Managers meeting here as the environment is out of the polluted cities. The air is fresh and natural beauty lies here.

Sinclairs Chalsa: Nice place in the lap of nature!

They are excellent people in the remote Dooars!
The resort is located at a hill top at Chalsa and is a huge property. There are more than 70 cottage style accommodations and a number of fields/ lawns inside the campus. Very green and clean. A breathtaking view of the different shades of green of the Dooars are visible from the reception area. The place is well connected by road and the nearest airport is approximately 2 hours by road. However, to have a seamless travel experience, you must have a rented car!
The people are helping and housekeeping was good. The rooms are big, clean and have a big modern bathroom attached. Though the furniture in the room are bit dated, things are maintained.
Food was excellent at their restaurant. The breakfast buffet was awesome.
They have gym and spa in house.
I must spend a few words for the management and the staff. They are helpful, well behaved and well groomed. It was a pleasant surprise to receive a gift of my anniversary with the flowers and the cake! It was a family trip with my parents and spouse. They took every possible steps to make our stay comfortable.
Places to improve:
1. Rooms should be provided with the important telephone numbers (reception, room service, housekeeping etc) as everything is far away from the rooms.
2. Wi fi in room (presently wi fi is available only at the reception area.
3. Spa need more professionalism, we could not found any one even at 4.45 pm. The service hours must be extended.
4. Some furniture may need renovation.
Overall, this is place to relax, relax and relax... enjoy the hospitality.. enjoy the nature.. enjoy the green..
