Tiny Hill
Footman72on 11/06/2017 07:20Sipapu is a tiny little ski hill conveniently located in the middle of nowhere. It is the smallest ski area in NM but it gets more snow than any other hill in the state. It is a great hill for beginniners and for intermediates. With that said, expert skiers will still have a good time at Sipapu. The lift tickets are very affordable and worth their value. The trails are fun and the snow is always wonderful. Recommend.
Great family ski trip

2 younger kids 9&11 went to ski school in the morning for two days. Then all 3 were able to ski with me all over the mountain!
Free if your 40! Free for kids in 4th or 5th grade. Comfy bar with tv. No tv in rooms. Stayed in the lodge, incredibly convenient . Literally 50ft from the lifts. Magic carpet lift for new skiers is great! Only $45 for adult lift tickets
Lots of fun, will definitely be back again and again!
spring break with the granddaughters
419lorikon 24/03/2017 19:28The area is great but the service was not great. We arrived on Sunday and were lucky to get private lessons for the girls. We tried the next day and no luck, All lessons sold out. They open at 8:00 so we left early to stand in line on Tuesday. We were in line by 7:30 and waited until 9:30 in line .By the time we got to the window there were no lessons left. They should sell lessons on line. Then you will know for sure that if you pay all of that money for rentals, lodging, gas, that they can learn to ski. Very disappointing. I don't understand their reasoning. If you are there and want lessons everyday you must endure the line and then be disappointed.

Nick Ton 20/03/2017 18:31I'd hate for the secret of Sipapu to get out but I want to give credit where it is do:
Michael- Seem to host our little family everywhere we went. He greeted us at 8:30 PM at our arrival. Made 2 trips to our cabin that night accommodating our requests. He's a great bartender and all round good host.
The guys operating the lift are so friendly.
Daniel- Excellent patient ski school instructor. Request private lessons for your kids with him. He had my 7 year old daughter skiing steep blues on her 3rd day on skis.
Another gentlemen who's name alludes me but he is a biologist in the summers was an awesome adult instructor.
Regardless....Love this place. Don't tell anyone about it. Thanks for a great trip!
2nd Annual family ski trip
Andrea Ron 14/03/2017 15:53This was our second year going to Sipapu for our family ski trip. We absolutely love it here. The mountain has all levels of runs. We feel very comfortable letting the kids ski and do their own thing because we know we will meet back up with them at the bottom of the hill. Great little find and they have really good specials that make it very affordable
