What People are saying

Disgusting

Understand you get what you pay for but the hotel is something else. I refused to pay and had to book another hotel. Cigarette burn in blanket, Hairs on bed and towels, toilet wouldn't stop leaking, blood in bath, no lights outside in corridor. And a crackhead bothering me outside. Reminded me of the hotel in first Inbetweeners movie.

You get what you pay for!

We booked this accomodation as a budget accom and that is what we received. The room was stayed in was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The bathroom was very clean and spacious enough. Unfortunately for my partner the bed was a little short and his legs hung over the edge but he is 6'5! The beds are on the smaller side but they are comfortable and clean. The hotel itself is very dated but the location is great. We booked a sea view and that is what we got (it did not stretch for km's but it was a small little corner of the sea and it was great to have out the window). We could hear the water at night which was really nice. The breakfast is average at best but it is included so can't complain. The staff are all very friendly and lovely and will help you out if you ask. The water outside the hotel is crystal clear and there is plenty of areas for swimming. The location is about 20-25 minute walk to the main port of Hvar. To walk to Hula Hula beach club is about 10-15 minutes. There are a couple of other beach bars and hotels with bars that you could visit along your way from the walk from Sirena into Hvar. We walked into Hvar every night for dinner and enjoyed drinks along our way on the way back. I don't think I would book again but for what you pay it is everything you could need, especially when you don't plan to be at your accomodation all day but rather be out exploring! On our last day we requested a taxi to get to the ferry and the receptionist organised it and it arrived within 15 minutes - a very pleasant end to the trip.

Quiet hotel near the city centre

It is our 4th night here and this is a quiet place to be. It is the end of season and no crowd at all. The room is average and very clean. Also the bathroom is nice and clean...with clean towels every day. We are staying in Rosemary building and have a seaside view. The hotel has several buildings on location and i think Rosemary is the best one. The beds are sadly very uncomfortable and it is almost impossible to sleep on auxiliary bed /i wonder how my 4 year old daughter is sleeping there!/. The hotel has 2 stars so you have to be prepared for lack of things like TV in the room / thank God we brought a laptop/. They said that we will have web in the room but we actually had to buy so the internet actually works now. There is a small playground for the children on the beach but their hotel swimmping pool is empty which was the biggest dissapointment for my daughter. I understand it is almost the end of season but everything should work until the end of season! Also if you come 10 minutes after the opening hour of breakfast or lunch... you notice the lack of food...that is unexceptable!! The usually serve 5 different food but no variety for small children so we have to buy things from the local store if our child leaves lunch hungry. The smell right outside the restaurant is terrible...there is a tolilet...Also the bad thing is that you can meet about 10 cats around the hotel waiting for some food to drop down...and those cats use the beach to pee! Totally unhealthy and the beach full of fieces is really not romantic at all...so you wonder if you or your child can catch a disease or something! You have to rent a car or a motorbyke to get into town or cruze the island...we have our own car. And yes....bring tones of protection for nasty mosquitos!! And the lady fat the frontdesk has no clue about the island so we had to search the web ourselves to get informations where to go and what to look. They even did not know that you can found a small aquapark in town Vrboska. The hotel has a lack of parkplaces for cars also...i wonder where to park at the peak of the season!!! The hotel desperately needs some renovation because you feel like steping into early 80'! The staff and cleaning ladies are really nice and they make you feel welcome but that is almost it. Sunbeds at the beach are free. Well...cheap and clean hotel for elder people. Next time we will choose a different location.

Just don't go

We tried to leave before our intended stay but the cancellation fee was too expensive so had to stay.

very far out of hvar town expect a long walk in the heat.

room with no fan or circulation was unbearably hot in august

breakfast was terrible, really terrible. everything stale, left out in the heat, coffee machine falling to pieces.

Only plus was the private beach which was lovely. However hotel sirena will try to get every penny out of you. you have to pay for the sun loungers on your PRIVATE HOTEL BEACH? and pay for kids for 20 minutes to bounce on an old trampoline. everything has a charge. didn't even try the shuttle bus as it went so infrequently and had to pay for that. just pay a little more for something nicer in central hvar and you will have a more comfortable stay.

i didn't see one person use the old pool which was in need of a clean . you have to pay for wifi and the only computer with internet it used by the staff watching football games on it.

also they like to add some extra random fees on to your bill at the end of your stay. a registration fee for example...

Don't bother

My 2015 to Hvar was a last minute decision so the I had to find a place really quick - Sirena was the only hotel with available rooms for my date of arrival. I've read the reviews here, but I thought how bad can it really be? Besides, I'll only sleep there, the rest of the day will be filled with everything this beautiful island has to offer.

Boy, was I wrong. The room was actually quite clean, but to call it shabby is an understatement. Most of the lights didn't work, there was only one outlet (the front desk staff laughed when I asked for an extension cord) and the water pressure was close to a light drizzle. The rooms are also really loud, and most of the guest are smoking inside while playing loud music.

It's cheap, but you'll be far better off choosing a private room than this place.
