Inexpensive & Decent

Was in town for a funeral and stayed 2 nights. The hotel room was clean and the staff was accommodating. Breakfast was pretty good. Good value for price and purpose. The location was also good in that it was near a major shopping and restaurant thoroughfare.

horrible!! I would rather drive all night!

We were last minute looking for a pace to stay and this was one of the only places with rooms available at the time. We won't wait til the last minute again, or we will just keep driving if we are in the area!! Upon going up to the room, we saw that the remote and the telephone were missing. The front desk lady found a remote for us. After returning from dinner, we were getting ready for bed. The sink didn't drain. If that wasn't gross enough, the toilet overflowed! I went to the front desk for assistance and to see about moving to another room. I was told "we don't have any other rooms available." The young lady was new there so she called the manager. He said he would "have someone there first thing in the morning". Really??? He ended up sending someone that was almost 30 minutes later than promised. He fixed the toilet and proceeded to "clean up" using the towel we had used to soak up some of the water on the floor. He laid his dirty snake on the floor in the hall. Then he moved to the sink where we already had our toothbrushes etc out, without washing his hands he was preparing to move our stuff when I realized what he was doing. I moved our stuff and he worked on it a few minutes, then left (it still didn't drain). He also offered to get us some more towels, we got them ourselves, again he still hadn't washed his hands. The next morning, the lady at the front desk asked how our stay was and I told her. She got the manager on the phone who this time offered to take $10.00 off our bill. I just checked my account, and it has posted the original amount. Waiting to see what happens here since it has only been a couple days.
I could go on, but you get the idea, old, smelly and in need of some good maintenance!
To add to the story, there was a lady in front of me when I went for help. They had checked her into a room with no curtains! They finally moved her and in the morning, she happened to be checking out behind me. The new room had a broken bed frame. They were uncomfortable all night... but that's her story to post...
The ladies at the front desk all tried to remain pleasant and helpful, but the manager - that wasn't onsite at all, he was another story!

Overnight Stop

We did not have the best experience during our overnight stay but the staff did try to correct the situation. The Inn is supposed to be smoke free but the first room we were assigned smelled bad like someone had been smoking cigarettes in the room and the room was outdated with old carpet, etc. We went to the front desk and the clerk appeared to be at a lost as to what to do. We suggested assigning us another room and it took awhile to locate a room even though there were supposedly 14 rooms available, we were given a new room. When we opened the door the window was open and the room did smell better. The bathroom was missing amenities like bath tissue but we just went to bed instead of contacting the front desk.

Inexpensive One Night Stay

This is a convenient hotel right off the freeway. It was clean and the breakfast was good although the breakfast area is very small. The price was good. The staff at checkin was friendly. There are plenty of eating establishments close, some within walking distance. I would stay here again.

Excellent inexpensive accomodations

Forced to stop overnight during a 900 mile trip and randomly picked the Sleep In in Spartanburg, SC. It was an excellent choice. They were able to accommodate us with no notice or reservation. The room was clean and had a small fridge and well-functioning TV. AC worked well (it was a warm night). Breakfast the next day was excellent, including fruit, pastries, waffles, the usual beverages, yogurt, etc. The entire room and breakfast for two was only $80. An excellent bargain.
