Kelly Won 19/07/2017 23:31Stayed here while visiting Holiday World. Breakfast was good. Rooms were a little small, but that was fine because the price was right. Air didn't work in our room, and we were quickly moved to another room. Very average, but a decent night sleep. :)
Clean
46momon 10/07/2017 02:15We stayed 2 nights in the Sleep Inn Owensboro. The room was clean and staff was friendly, the pool was nice and was very warm. Breakfast was good and well stocked.
However, the room was extremely small. The beds seemed smaller than the usual double bed hotel room. This wouldn't be a problem with 1-2 guests in the room but we were traveling as a family with children so it was pretty crowded. The toilet and stand up shower (no bathtub) are in a separate room but the door to this was a pocket door that wouldn't close all the way and did not have a lock.
The walls are also very thin we could clearly hear conversations of anyone in the hallway. And the hallway was busy for most of the night which did not allow for a good night's sleep. We were traveling with our 17 month old son and I'm sure his cries were disturbing to other guests.
Overall, this hotel was ok but the room was probably more well suited for a smaller group.
Enjoyable Stay
SunBum09on 20/06/2017 21:33Stayed here for one evening while passing through. When checking in, the front desk lady was efficient, but not very friendly. I was disturbed that a pizza delivery guy came up to the desk to ask her to call up to a room to verify that they were expecting a delivery, and she just told him to go on up. He was clearly also shocked and responded that he thought she would need to call the room first. That did not make me feel very safe. The common areas and room were very nicely kept. The room had updated decor and the bed was very comfy. The only room complaint would be that the carpet didn't pass my "bare feet" test. It didn't feel clean when walking on it barefoot- kind of sticky and some staining, so I stuck with flip-flops. Breakfast was good, with eggs and biscuits and gravy, plus the typical breads/cereals/fruits. I would recommend Donato's pizza if you are looking for delivery.
My stay there in April
Carbiggy50on 01/05/2017 21:37I stayed for 10 nights a week ago. The room was large and clean and the breakfast not too bad even with paper plates and pastic knives and forks. The hotel is isolated with just a Shell gas station near by. You will require a car for this hotel.
Just OK Place to Stay
Steve Hon 12/04/2017 23:52Nothing really bad about our stay, but nothing stood out either. Acceptably clean and quiet, and reasonably priced. The worst part about our stay was not the motel's fault -- when we went to relax in the pool area, it was overrun by about a dozen kids, three of whom were pointing at something in the hot tub and going "Ewwwwww!!!!" Needless to say, we decided to skip swimming that night.
