Hmmm...

My wife and I normally stay at Comfort Inns/Suites, and I can't recall the last time (if ever) we stayed at a Sleep Inn, so we weren't quite sure what to expect. Reviews here and on other sites were very good, however, and Midlothian was a good overnight stopping point, so we took a chance. Location was excellent with easy on-off access to US 360 and close proximity to a good range of fast-food and other restaurants. Exterior and lobby area were well maintained and welcoming, but stepping into the elevator felt like we had warped into another reality. The elevator carpet was very dirty and worn, and the walls of the elevator were also stained/dirty. Hallway to our room was better, but carpets and walls still could use a good cleaning and/or painting. Thankfully, our room was OK - basic, as expected, but it seemed clean and fairly well maintained. Bathroom was also clean, but there was major paint-peeling on the upper walls of the shower. (OK, it's steamy, and paint will eventually peel, but this was pretty serious peeling!) Also, vanity lighting was awful, to the point that it was difficult to shave in the morning. Room seemed generally quiet, but I woke to the sound of the ice machine at 4:30 am, which continued until I got up. (We had an end room adjacent to the snack machine/ice machine room, though I don't know why the ice machine seemed to go into overdrive at 4:30 am?) On the positive side, bed and linens were quite comfortable. Breakfast area was very well-maintained, and the food offering was as good or better than other hotels at this level. Finally, all staff persons were friendly/helpful, and check-in/check-out was quick/easy. Clearly, I have mixed feelings about this Sleep Inn, though a different room and a little cleaning/paint would give a much different experience. On that basis, I will rate this stay 3 and 1/2 stars, but give the benefit of the doubt and round to 4 stars.
Good staff, good stay

Stayed at Sleep Inn when daughter had a tournament at River City Sportsplex and we were very happy with our accommodations. Room was clean, staff was friendly and helpful and breakfast was plentiful. Sleep Inn is close to restaurants and shopping. Only thing that was mediocre is the tiny fitness room (only 3 cardio machines, no weights).
Nice, Quiet Room

Overall good stay. Room and bathroom are big and clean. Comfortable bedding. Quiet stay. Stephanie checked us in and was very, very helpful, courteous and polite.
Heads up on the breakfast though. Food was fine, but we thought it was available until 10am so we headed down about 9:10. The man who seemed in charge was very rude when I was making a waffle. Apparently I didn't do it correctly and the machine was beeping. He flipped and and reprimanded me for doing it wrong. Then he started cleaning up and putting stuff away. I questioned him why so soon and was very coarsely told that breakfast was until 9:30. When I said oh, I thought breakfast was available until 10, I was coarsely informed the lobby had a sign that clearly stating breakfast was until 9:30 on week days. For the record, he was cleaning it up before 9:30 and allowed a worker to make something after we no longer had access to the food.
We were in town for my child's lacrosse tournament. The heat index was 107 for two days. Being so hot all day, the breakfast was one of the few things we ate. We enjoyed our stay, but I was left with a bad feeling after the breakfast.
Disappointed!!!

We spent two horrible nights here....unfortunately, we had a limited selection of hotels to choose from. For $159/night we expected better! First, the staff was very friendly and nice. The entrance of the hotel was well appointed. We actually went back on TripAdvisor and several sites to make sure we had the right hotel. Location was great BUT the rest was very poor. The carpet was disgusting! They really should take the time to shampoo it, the hotel air quality was horrible. The walls were very thin, we were woken up at 2:30am because the other guests thought it was appropriate to be rowdy while others were sleeping. Our restroom door would not close so we had limited privacy and one of the lights were also out in there. It was over dirty and has not been kept up! We would never stay here again!!
Airline Pilot rates Sleep Inn Midlothian the Best Breakfast Service

As an airline captain, I have stayed in hundreds of hotels, some with full service breakfast others with very little. The quality of complementary breakfast available is excellent, but more importantly the way Alfredo Mendoza sees to each guest's wishes is impressive. He is courteous, prompt, anticipates your wishes, and above all exceptionally capable and friendly. During my four day stay I asked frequent guests about their impression of Alfredo - all were most impressed with his service.
The desk staff and room cleaning staff are excellent by any standard. My fastidious wife appreciates the cleanliness throughout. Location is great as are area services.
Workout room on first floor is small, but has latest machines, sanitizing supplies, and cold water.
