Not up to standard
ManhattenHooton 05/08/2017 20:23Stayed at the hotel for a night. Front desk staff helpful. The hotel is in need of a through cleaning. Toilet had a loose seat and the flush handle fell out. Carpeting on stairs was extremely dirty. Landscaping full of weeds which I think reflects on the lack of cleaning inside. I hope they work on these issues. For want a room costs anymore, the facility should be better kept up.
Agreat hotel to stay at
csmafieldon 05/08/2017 01:40Room was very neat and clean. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Manager was very courteous and helped us with a urgent problem we had. Food was filling and delicious. I recommend family and friends to stay at this hotel . It was a pleasant experience.

LOCATION it is close to lots of restaurants and attractions
They served a free dinner mac cheese,salad.soda (we went out)
Good cheap place kids eat swim at the pool

We where in room 334 3rd floor back stairs the door out back was propped open twice by a rock. Lots people out smoking drinking at picnic table. They want in use room card. MANAGEMENT MUST DO BETTER JOB ON THIS!!!!!!!!!!!

Over all ok for one night but I could gotten better 1 block away same price. AS my job I keep people out that do not belong if open let a door stay like that door and the wrong person got in heads would roll that was a deal breaker. My wife did not feel safe all those people looked us strange when I closed the door. For a family wants ok night free food entertain kids it will do fine.
If management let me know how they resolve safety issue I would give it 4 rating but I just can not do it now.

We're very easy going people, (I won't even send back burned food) that's why we ignored the dirty toilet when we checked in, as well as the fact that the room smelled like smoke (smoke that seems to have seeped through the walls from previous smokers, before smoking in rooms became forbidden I suppose).
But the 2nd and 3rd night we were having an excessive noise issue and the management was not helping at all, saying that their "hands are tied".
Far from the truth as we came to realize.
The 2nd and 3rd night there almost our entire floor and a few rooms on the floor above had been occupied by a big group of teenagers and their parents and basketball coaches. Both nights the children had been running up and down the hallways and the stairs next to us, yelling, slamming doors, stomping and playing volleyball on the court right outside of our windows well after the established by the hotel quiet time of 10pm. This had been happening all night until after midnight. We called and complained at the front desk 4 times. The staff was contacting the guardians and asking them to make sure the children keep it down, but nothing was really changing and once the staff had left, the noise was back on. I even personally talked to a parent at 11 p.m. and still nothing changed. We hadn't been able to get a good night's rest two out of the three nights we were there.
The 3rd night we wanted to get up and checkout around midnight and go to another one down the street to get some sleep, because we just couldn't take it any longer. So we asked the front desk for a refund for that night and the following night, since we wouldn't be spending those last 2 nights there for reasons that were not our fault (all that EXCESSIVE NOISE).
We were told by the manager that, because we booked through Booking.com, their "hands are tied" and they cannot refund us.
As if Booking.com doesn't want us to get our money back. LIES.
We contacted Booking.com who tried to help us cancel the booking. A Booking.com manager contacted the hotel manager the next morning (since he wasn't there that night) to ask them for a refund. So we were forced to spend the 3rd night there too.
What did the hotel management expect us to do? To stay there sleepless for 2 more nights? Or to pay for that night and the next anyway, even though we were about to pack our bags and go to another hotel? (Because they cannot control their loud guests)
This was supposed to be 4 days of relaxation for us, and it turned into a loud nightmare.
This hotel is NOT recommended at all.
UPDATE
The booking.com people came through. The manager however only refunded us for the 4th night, (the day that we left to go to another hotel for our last night in Michigan), even though we wanted to leave the previous night as well and even though we had 2 bad nights out of 3 because of the noise. I was expecting at least a refund for last night too.
At this point we're just glad we're getting out of this hotel. But it was a major inconvenience to get up in the morning and pack, be out by 11 and then wander around aimlessly until 3 which is the check-in time of the next hotel. We wanted to visit a city an hour away but now we are forced to stick around until 3.All because this hotel could not control its loud guests.
Like I said, NOT recommended.
FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE
Desiree Son 14/07/2017 13:00This hotel has grade A employees that went out of their way to make not only me, but everyone else they encountered, feel right at home. Tim, Ashton, and Corinne were all very welcoming. Breakfast was hot and excellent, and the free dinner was delicious and a brilliant surprise! Thank you for a wonderful time! I will definitely be back
