Poor greeting and house keeping

Upon our arrival, we were greeted at the desk. The attendant was pleasant enough, but didn't tel is any of what I would consider basic check-in information. Room rate (just wanted me to sign), hours for the pool, hours for breakfast, WiFi password, etc... I asked for the WiFi and the others didn't really bother me, but it's just basic information that should be shared.
Then we went to our room.... one of the first things we noticed was that the toilet had been used! Seat up, yellow water. There was also still a bat of soap in the shower. Yes, we could have complained and asked for a new room, but just decided to let that go.
But then when we went to go to bed, my daughter pulled back the covers on her bed and there was a folded piece of paper there! The little "Thanks for staying with us" thing. Also some hairs. By this time, about to go to bed, again we just done bother complaining.
They supply an envelope in the room worth the room attendant' s name and a note on it that if you want to leave a tip you should put it there and take it to the desk. I put the paper from in the made up bed and put it in there and wrote Abbott everything else on the back. We always leave a couple bucks at hotels, but not this one. I've worked as a room attendant... it's not that difficult to clean a room.
When I gave it to the girl at the desk as I checked out she read it and just said "okay... I'll let her know".
I also alerted her that the light on the shower was close to falling off. She did say she'd write up a work order for that.

I have traveled quite a bit in my life. This may be my worst experience. Special request on my reservations were wrong. Poor internet connection. So many people were in the hotel one morning, I had to take a cold shower. Ice machine ran out of water and beeped at night. And the clincher was that a personal item went missing from my room. When the manager finally called me, days after I had left, I got no consideration. He asked me for another chance. That wont be happening.

No decent restaurants near this hotel, only fast food. Noisy as it’s across the road from a truck stop. Bad WiFi that kept going in and out. No hot water in the morning in the shower. Unfriendly staff. Need I say anything else?

Staff was Great but Room was Beat Up

Upon check in with another couple, we received 1 room on the first floor and 1 on the 3rd floor. I booked two rooms about 3 months ago. Our friends got the 3rd floor room and said it was nice. We got a room on the first floor that was in need of repair. The room had ceiling issues, the TP holder was just about ripped off the wall, the carpeting had a shredded area going into the bathroom, the curtains were in poor shape and the carpeting had numerous stains in front of the sink. I have stayed here in the past and never had these types of conditions. This room needs some attention.

Pleasantly surprised

I was simply looking for a place to sleep but got a delightful place. Spacious room, quiet, convenient to highway, great shower stall with super shower head, and neat clean facility.
Easy check in with pleasant staff. Wonderful place considering the cost! Check them out.
