What People are saying

Not bad, but needs improvement

JenCinVAon 23/05/2017 13:39

The hotel personnel are very nice and helpful. That said, I watched the front desk woman who brings out the cookies in the evening carrying the container of cookies with the bags and tissue paper in her MOUTH. I was beyond disgusted. I don't know why she thought that would be okay. I get that her hands were full, but she could have laid them on top of the cookies container. My room was nice and very clean overall, but it smelled of cigarette smoke as soon as I walked it and then seemed to disappear or I got used to it. I smelled it though every time I walked back into my room. I should have asked to move, but I was only there a few days so I bought air freshener. It didn't work, but since it seemed to go away I dealt with it. I did ask if it used to be a smoking hotel and they assured me it wasn't. Apparently they have people smoking right by the front door and it comes into the hotel. Being on the first floor it travels down the hallway? How about making people be 50 ft from the entrance of the hotel to smoke then? Why is this tolerated? Also, my bathroom door had cracks in the wood that needs to be fixed. The toilet is extremely frustrating. There is a button on the back of the toilet tank, which the first flush literally just flushes water into the bowl so nothing goes down. Then you have to wait until the tank settles and do it again for it to actually flush. I learned this after many attempts to flush and not work. The front desk said you have to push hard on the button, but I was doing that and it wasn't working like a normal toilet. That's really not convenient when you are in a hurry. I was on the first floor of the hotel and I didn't realize that people could actually walk up to my window, not that it happened, but it could. That's disconcerting as a female traveling alone. I prefer natural light when possible, but I was not leaving my window open so people could see I was in the room alone. They should at least put some bushes outside the window so people can't get that close to look in. It's just odd for compared to the hotels I normally stay at. I stayed here because the Army was paying for it. Breakfast was okay, comparable to a Hampton Inn. I was impressed the waffle mix had apple cinnamon and blueberry, which is different. I wish they had regular silverware though. I bought Stromboli at Brooklyn Pizzeria and they gave me plastic utensils, which the fork started to melt/bend as I was cutting the first few pieces. So I asked the front desk for silverware and they told me it was in the eating area. Of course, only plastic, but it was slightly better than what I was using. It was quite an ordeal to eat my dinner that night. The hotel is next to an almost defunct shopping center so not the best area. I went to Brooklyn Pizzeria due to all the reviews and the CVS, but there are maybe 5 stores still operating in this shopping center so it feels like a ghost town. I didn't feel very safe so I got back to my room quickly. Everyone I spoke with at work had this look on their face because they couldn't believe I stayed in Spring Lake. Apparently not a great area, but I didn't know at that time. While it was easy to get on/off post, I had to drive to the other side of post to get to work so check where you have to be on post before staying here. I was 9-10 miles one way to USASOC.

Perfect Place to Stay Just Outside Fort Bragg

Tom Pon 15/03/2017 15:32

The staff was extremely friendly, courteous and helpful. The place is clean and easy to get to to/from Fort Bragg, even though the northern access to Fort Bragg from Spring Lake has been closed off. Lots of places to eat are located nearby. Being in Spring Lake, you don't have to deal with the hustle and bustle of Fayetteville on the south side of Fort Bragg. The room I was in was spacious and comfortable, with all the amenities I needed for a short stay. The breakfast included with the room might be "standard hotel fare," but it was good and plentiful. I managed to screw up my computer and disabled the touch pad on my laptop. The front desk allowed me to borrow a mouse long enough to reset my touch pad. Later, while at the Fayetteville airport, I couldn't find my glasses anywhere and I can't even read my phone anymore without them. Thinking I might have left them in the hotel lobby on the coffeee table there, I called the front desk. They attempted to locate my glasses and even tracked down the cleaning lady while I was on hold so they could ask her, too. Turns out, I had lost my glasses in a friend's car, but you cannot beat the helpfulness of the staff at this Sleep Inn and Suites. These people understand "customer service." I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Fort Bragg or the local area for a few days.

Excellent staff

The staff was friendly and helpful. We were on the way to the airport when we discovered that my daughter had left her diamond wedding ring in the room. We called and housekeeping had found it. We are so grateful for the honesty of the staff. Could have been a disaster! We always choose this hotel when we visit family at Ft. Bragg.

Great

The room is just what us ladies needed. It was close to our favorite restaurant and very spacious. The beds were super comfy and clean. There was no noise and the staff was super friendly. It is a little difficult trying to get into the hotel but once you learn the area it becomes easier.

Great Experience

I've stayed there several times while visiting my soldier at the base. Its very clean and the staff is super friendly. They've made accommodations for me when I ask like where we want our room, etc.

The bed is very comfortable! Even when I'm there alone, I feel safe and secure.

There's plenty of food for breakfast, the eggs aren't as good as mine but they're breakfast.

The only reason we're looking at the Comfort Inn on Skibo is because he said its easier for him to get too from work. There is a lot more to do, eat, etc on Skibo but there are casual dining options, CVS, Walmart, etc very close by to this hotel too. After being over on Skibo, that's the ONLY reason I gave this location a 4 instead of a 5.
