Travel sleepover between flights

We caught the shuttle from JFK to get some sleep here between flights. While this is in a seemingly rough area of town, the room itself was nice. It had all the amenities. We had breakfast after we arrived. There appeared to be people who may be actually living in the hotel, though I am not sure of this.
The room is smallish but had a comfortable bed, good light blocking curtains and the staff were friendly and helpful.

It was a nice pleasant stay at the place.though a short time spent,it was worth the sleep.i would love to come by again.hope the new look comes out to be great.great staff,nice rooms,good breakfast ^_^

My wife and I wanted a direct flight to Antigua. We were tired of going from Baltimore thru Miami to get there. There are direct fights from JKF. We drove to Brooklyn, stayed over, took their shuttle to JFK (leaving our car at the Sleep Inn for a week), and flew from JFK, returning a week later to pick up our car. Although we hated the traffic in NY - especially the Belt Parkway - the Sleep Inn was GREAT! The inn is clean, undergoing a facelift, rooms comfortable, breakfast large and complete, shuttle prompt, innkeepers polite and VERY helpful, security cameras, safe parking, etc.

I booked a day room here (from 8 am to 4 pm) while waiting for a flight. The shuttle bus picked me up within 15 minutes at JFK, which was nice, but that was the only positive experience. I checked in and was given a room on the 4th floor. I decided to take a nap around 9 am before getting some work done and I was woken up by a tremendously loud amount of noise outside of my room. I open the curtain and there's a huge crane outside doing work to the front of the building. When I complained, I was told the work would be done in 20 minutes but it went on all day. Housekeepers talk very loudly in the halls and there is a rather unusually large # of security personnel walking around the building. When I checked out, I noticed they charged me twice for the room and to this day, a week later, they have not removed the 2nd charge. I am quite sure there are much better choices near JFK.

If all you need is a tiny hotel room with dark curtains, and a reliable and fast shuttle bus to JFK with a good breakfast included (a bit beyond continental), this place is for you. If you want a standard hotel room without the dingy urban lobby, this place is not.

One noteworthy item is that your car is moved off the property. They were happy to accommodate our request to leave the car in the parking lot overnight so I could dump in an extra suitcase before we flew away, and the car was there when we returned, but I wanted to let you know. The fact that it was a valet service was not clear to me.

Another noteworthy tip that I did not know about JFK is that unless you park at an airport parking lot, you need to take the AirTrain (an inside the airport elevated train) to the last stop called Federal Circle where the shuttle meets you. We lucked out because the shuttle only comes every 16 minutes, and we just made it, but it is another step in the whole process. Again, their shuttle was there waiting for us, but it was another step that JFK requires after one long flight.
