Nice place to stay near Mall
somsubhra_sarkaron 07/06/2017 09:16Me and my wife travelled to Darjeeling in Dec 2016. It’s a wonderful family run hotel located in 8-10 minutes walking distance from Mall. Room and toilet are clean, cozy and hygiene. They don’t have kitchen, only breakfast/tea is available at morning at third floor. One thing to mention here, the noise of the vehicles and people on the road below may be bit disturbing for someone (fine for us).
One thing I don’t like is their driver (Jackey) who is very commercial and asks money for every bit of request which is not in the plan. For example he asked Rs. 400 for St Paul School only which is located in the city itself and hardly 15 mins drive from the hotel. Also they charged us Rs 3000 for NJP to Hotel. Hence I would like to recommend to book taxi from the taxi stand which is located very near to this hotel (200m). Apart from this episode overall it was a nice experience.
We would recommend the place as good value for money & a memorable experience
A great place to stay
gg00drichon 02/06/2017 05:45This is an excellent hotel. The showers have good pressure and hot water. The staff were incredibly friendly (my friends and I were all presented with gifts upon departing.) Perhaps the greatest thing was the Tibetan common room on the top floor which overlooked much of Darjeeling. I would recommend this place to anyone staying in Darjeeling.
Great place to stay!
bgraumanon 02/06/2017 05:29Very friendly staff, comfortable rooms (very dark at night for some much-needed sleep!) great breakfast, and a good location in Darjeeling. I would absolutely stay there again, it was a perfect place for that part of the trip!
Nice hotel
piyushsinghal84on 28/05/2017 11:05Its a small cozy hotel. Near to mall road . host Ms sangeetha was very courteous. We were 3 families travelled from 11 th to 12 th may. They have a small dining area on top floor where they serve breakfast also. There is a gate on top floor from where u can go on back road if you don't want to go uphill.
Owner was very keen in showing their terrace and view of Darjeeling but it was a foggy day.
At departure they gave us a scarf as a token of appreciation.
People in this homestay were very generous.
I will recommend others to stay in this hotel
A value for money experience in the abode of gods
Vipin Son 20/05/2017 16:40We travelled to Darjeeling in May 2017 and stayed at Snowlion Homestay. Firstly we would like thank & appreciate Mr.Gaili & Ms.Sangeetha for very good response on emails for our queries which helped us make quick bookings.
Although we reached little late the welcome was nice and they helped up quickly with all the bags we had and check-in was fast. Rooms and the facility have an ethnic Tibetan flavour which we liked. The rooms are medium sized but neat/clean . The washrooms are little small and surely need an overhaul as it shows little wear & tear , could be better . The food / BFast is served in the third floor dining area of the Tibtan family who manage the facility and although food is simple , its quick, fresh & nice. On a non foggy day there is excellent view of the Kanchenjunga right from the room itself or better from the roof top
Staff are always available on call for you incase you need any help . Best part is they have their own vehicle fleet with an excellent team of drivers which assures you good sightseeing / pickup / drop . I would especially like to recognise our driver Jackie who took at for sightseeing as well as dropped us to Bagdogra back. His friendly attitude , customer friend mannerism and the urge to make sure guests experience maximum places without hurrying through is to be appreciated. Overall we would recommend the place as good value for money & a memorable experience
