I was part of a group of 22 New Zealanders who had travelled from Auckland new Zealand in one day. We needed to sleep and to excercise.
My impression was that it was very easy to reach this hotel from the airport and that it was in a quiet location with a river nearby and a Buddhist Temple and associated park about 200m away. This was a wonderful introduction to Chengdu and to China.
First impressions were of a very grand foyer featuring a double staircase and lots of sumperous velvet - cushions and drapes.
Our room was spacious and had good connectivity with plenty of places to plug in gadgets. (our photography gear) 2 bottles of water were supplied and two types of tea were offered.
The bed had feather duvets and the pillows suited me just fine. On past visits to China, pillows have been a probably being far too fat. We enjoyed a spacious well appointed bathroom.
The group ate at the hotel. The breakfast buffet offered an amazing variety of food impressively displayed.

Amazing luxury hotel. Effecient and professional check-in. Room was very large and spotlessy clean. Lots of extras. Good English by front line staff. Breakfast had lots of choice for Chinese and western guests.

Good wake up call....
B side of Hotel was very poor, but when we returned we moved to A side was excellent.
Don't count on breakfast very poor.....
In general Hotel OK, but i will look at different options on my next visit.....

My first time staying at this hotel, and it was an interesting experience.
The hotel must have undergone some renovations - recently. I had requested and was given an executive room, but the facilities did not match the description or photos on the booking website (or any other site for that matter). I found the room to be larger than advertised, spotlessly clean, but no bathtub as shown in the photos.
There was also no iron or ironing board as advertised and the in-room safe would not accept a lock code. Another oddity in the room was the HDMI connection at the desk, to connect a laptop to the on-wall TV. I don't know if it worked because the TV remote control did not match the TV and had no way of changing the input channel. That was too bad since I had videos on my laptop that I wanted to watch.
Since I arrived with a sore back I had hoped to get a massage, but the SPA is also now closed.
As mentioned in other reviews, the number of staff with English skills was limited, but to their credit they always managed to find someone who could help me. Much credit goes to Dora on the Assistant Manager's staff. She was there at peak times to greet guests and provided a lot of help to me, and presumably other guests as well.
The restaurant served OK food, but was geared mainly toward Chinese guests, but I did not starve.
Overall it was still a good value for the price paid and I would stay again if in the area.

This hotel is just 5 minutes walking distance to the Wenshu temple, located in the city centre. Check-in was easy. Staff attitude are good although most of them don't understand English but they really tried to be helpful. The room and bathroom spacious. I think this was old building renovated and equipped with modern amenities. When we told them that we might need to check out early morning they offered us to pack our free breakfast.
