Perfect base camp
Tatu_Pon 26/03/2017 08:42We had a good time in Tahko Ski resort. The hotel was very nice. The location is perfect, near by lifts, shops and restaurants. We had room with sauna, I can recomend that. The hotel's restaurant was also good. It was my second time in this hotel.
Nice stay, well positioned base for skiing and great outdoors
Paavo2on 02/03/2017 08:36Right, we have a dog. Is allowed, first major plus there. The location in this tiny place is close to as-good-as-can-be. Directly across the lake to the slopes. Paths to walk (the dog and otherwise) are right there. Cross country tracks too. Or for mechanized outings (skidoo's or whatever). One can park on the ice (if there is a car) if one does not want to wobble to the slope with skiboots on. Great for skiing one way or the other, or just walking. Also other pastimes available, them I don't know too closely. Everything has a price, obviously. Well, not the walking or the cross country skiing.
The room for four persons is quiet, but a bit smallish. The shower tends to soak the whole bathroom/toilet as there is no door. Should all four people go skiing and need to dry their kit after, the dryer is way too small. In addition there are limited possibilities to hang one's stuff. I.e. close to none. No closets, wall hooks or anything. Not good.
On the plus side, there is a sauna in the bathroom, small but functional. Well, almost on the plus side. It heats up, kinda, but the extractor fan will suck the tupee right off your head along with the heat from the oven if you don't leave the tupee before entering. Yes, a bit of an exaggeration but you get the image. The common sauna, however, is excellent, hot enough, roomy enough, with steam and 'normal' versions. Gender separated obviously. Actually I was there all by myself, even though it was the high season.
The service is very nice. All the services are nearby. No complaints there. With a bit of an effort potential to be excellent.
Friendly staff but a bit outdated interiors
heidimakynenon 27/02/2017 20:36My friend and I stayed here for a weekend for downhill skiing. We chose the slightly bigger (superior) room with its own sauna and that was a good choice since the room still wasn't very big and we had quite a lot of skiing gear with us. The room was tidy but I've seen much nicer superior rooms. The breakfast was nice, especially the local products. The service throughout our stay was very friendly and we even got to use the hotel's common sauna and swimming pool area after our last day on the slopes even though we had checked out earlier in the morning. All in all a pleasant experience.
Average hotel with great suite!
Niko Ron 23/01/2017 07:27We had a weekend trip to Tahko with 4 friends and decided to take hotelĀ“s best suite rather than 2 normal rooms. Great choice! It is very spacious (maybe 100 m2) and suitable for 4-6 people. Has big private sauna, nice jacuzzi, one separated bedroom, another double bed next to livingroom and bed-sofa for two. It does not have a kitchen but only a refridgerator and a table. Has spacious area with huge windows from floor to roof and the whole wall with a view to the slopes. Must say, for some reason hotel is trying to charge us some extra cleaning fee for no reason.
Nice skiing break with family
Riikka Lon 05/01/2017 20:23The location is very good, near the slopes and the skiing tracks. The hotel serves a good buffet lunch and there's also a pizzeria and a small hamburger restaurant. It's nice that you can order from any of those dining options and eat together in the main restaurant. Plus there's a small supermarket next to the hotel, if you don't want to eat at the restaurant. The hotel has a nice sauna and a small pool, the water is pretty cold, but our son enjoyed it anyway. The only negative thing was the extra bed, our son wasn't very happy with it first. You pull it down from the wall and it doesn't look very comfortable..
