Really nice Spa
Taina Non 09/01/2017 09:59This remarkable Spa has everything, swimming, gym, skiing, skating not forgetting lovely little village and outside ice walking. Staff is friendly, hopafully local 😉. You will have a good time here with good food, coffee and athmosphere, and of course exercise ⛷☃️🏊🏻🏋️♀️
Great nights sleep!
Jaakko Ron 18/10/2016 11:36I went to sleep here for the night. The beds were very nice and the hotel quiet. I slept like a baby. Breakfast was also good, so I have no complaints. Apparently the sports facilities here are awesome, but on this visit I didn't have a chance to see them.
Sports center with accomodation
Katariina Mon 15/08/2016 17:50TLDR: If you're looking for boutique style spa, you will be disappointed. However, if you want to stay in a sports center, this is place for you. Old, but very clean.
VesiLeppis is more of a sports center (urheiluopisto) with accomodation than spa hotel. The main building is old and kinda labyrinthine, but everything is clean. Actually cleanliness is better than in major chain hotels!
We had a standard room and it's great for families 'cause you have two normal beds and two foldable beds so it's no problem to have four persons in a standard room.
If you're staying at the hotel, you get a pass/card to visit the spa, skiing place and I guess some other sporty things, too. (Even the mini golf seemed to be free?!) As we were just stopping there for a night we only used the spa. There would have been e.g. a new multi sport hall.
Spa is actually made of an old swimming hall, so the interior design is kinda... non existing. There are few tracks to swim and run, one basic slide, a hot tub, a cold tub, weird metallic pool for kids (with a tiny slide), hot tub/massage pool and a free (smallish) Wibit Aqua Track. Normal price for spa is 12€ and 6,50€ for people living nearby - so you really shouldn't wait for same things than from e.g. Flamingo in Vantaa.
Breakfast was a really basic Finnish hotel breakfast. There seems to be sports teams on a training camp, and I guess the food is designed to serve junior ice hockey teams as well as sporty adults. We ate at the Bistro and the food was pretty much what expected.
Overall experience was that it's not a luxury spa holiday place, but our kids think this is one of the best hotels in Finland (haven't stayed in other spa hotels though). Would go again, the price was reasonable for what we got (we paid 158€/night for last minute booking in early August). The kids loved it, but even the adults felt that it would have been nice to stay longer and/or come again.
Nice and comfortable
Ari Kon 23/06/2016 07:49Visited there with family of 3 and grandparents in next room. Date was 3. of June so place was a bit quiet due to start of schools' holiday season. Dinner restaurant was nice and staff helpful. Karaoke bar serviced by night. Breakfast was fulfilled and tasty. Renovated Spa was ok. All in all a good experience. I recommend if travelling in those areas.
One night stay
Wyld_hearton 19/06/2016 20:06We stayed here for one night with two cats during a cat show weekend. The hotel feels a bit dated overall but it is easy to navigate. Check in was efficient with friendly service. The room was O.K. sized; however, it was clearly in need of renovation and felt outdated and not very cozy. Moreover, the room had not been cleaned very well as there were multiple dead flies on the floor when we arrived. There was an empty mini-fridge in the room, although the inside temperature was very warm. On a positive note, the room was very quiet.
Breakfast selection was rather limited with only few fresh vegetable and fruit options, also the juices tasted like badly diluted from concentrate and the coffee was not very enjoyable. We did not try the spa area.
