What People are saying

Just a 3* hostel

bsb72on 27/08/2017 23:54

Well I'll start with the pros as there isn't many....

The location is good, 10 minutes walk to the beach, shops, bars etc

The entertainment staff try very hard to entertain on a very low budget

The maids come every day to 'clean'

So the cons...

The rooms are so run down, it's like a youth hostel, chipped paint, dirty walls, bedding had blood on it!

The food is so bland and very boring. It's the same night after night, except on theme nights which in 7 days we've had 1. The dishes to eat off are always dirty as is the cutlery.

The sun beds are always reserved before 8.30am so if you need one you need to be up and ready for 8 otherwise you are out of luck

There's only one bar which is outside, so during the hotter hours of the day there's no alternative to get out of the heat unless you want to carry your drinks back and forth

The entertainment is well below par... although the mama Mia show was good, but the rest of the week was laughable (and not in a good way).

Overall if you want a cheap week away with no high expectations you'll love it here.

Book again ? No way !!!

We stayed at this hotel for a week on a all inclusive basis.
For a 3* hotel , the accommodation was ok . Very clean and comfortable rooms . We are a family of 4 and had the salon suite with double rooms. The rooms are cleaned every day and fresh towels are provided. The downside of it is there is no air conditioning and the fan was only in one room. You can't sleep with your window open as is very noisy. Starting with 6am they start bringing stuff to the kitchen and bar. Around 5am the laundry trucks were loudly reversing and loading .

Coming to the food .... I could say the food was horrible . They were using left overs meat to cook the next day food . Breakfast very repetitive, every day the same thing. After a couple of days it gets sickening. You couldn't eat pasta carbonara or bolognese. Taste was horrible. I regret buying all inclusive board . We eat out as the food was so bad.

Overall I wouldn't come here again . We love Tenerife and we will return but not to this hotel .

Mugged

My friend and I stayed here at the beginning of August. On the last day, we checked out in the morning, but our transfer was not until the evening. We wanted to buy Late Checkout which the hotel offers, so we could leave our things in our room, but were told we couldn't as the hotel was busy. Later in the day, whilst sitting on sunloungers in the hotel grounds, a man climbed the fence and took my bag. My friend fought him to get my bag back (and passport!!) but he escaped with my phone and purse. We went to find a member of staff and all were busy but we finally got to speak to a manager. She had a look at where it had happened and put me on the phone to the police, but she did not seem surprised or bothered. After that we sat in the lobby for 4 hours waiting for our transfer, and not one member of staff or the manager came to ask if we were ok or if we'd understood what the police had said on the phone. They did not seem to care that this had happened inside their hotel!

I would however like to point out that we had really enjoyed the holiday before this. We were happy with our room, the food/drinks, and the hotel is in a good location.

No drink with dinner on half board.

My family and I are staying at the tryp hotel on half board, at breakfast you got your food (which is delicious) and tea/coffee/juice and that was great, dinner however, different story, you get your meal but if you're half board you don't get a drink, AT ALL, not even a glass of water, unless you're willing to open a £50 tab as the hotel doesn't deal with cash and we were not informed of this until we were at the hotel checking in. Considering the fact it's very hot and going into a place that's filled with other people and ovens that have been on for a while, it gets uncomfortably hot very quickly. You should at least be allowed a glass of water, other than that, there's not much else to fault.

Holiday to TRYP

Katie Don 22/08/2017 11:43

*** I apologise for the length but i would rather know everything than nothing. ***

I have just returned from a 9 night stay in TRYP with my boyfriend (both 22). We were a bit sceptical about going because of bad reviews but we were pleasantly surprised.

The hotel itself upon arrival doesnt look great, just like a tower of apartments but once your inside, it is lovely. Fresh colours, spacious and always someone around to help.

We stayed in a premium room with a sea view (room 916). It was an okay sea view, it could of been better but we were happy. Th bed was two singles pushed together and really it wasn't that comfy, it could of been comfier. Balcony can fit two people max, quite small but perfect for sitting out and watching the sun set or having a quiet drink. We were surprised that we had a little sitting area in our room as it wasn't advertised on the website. The AC was amazing and definitely worth paying the extra money for the premium or higher rooms. (we were told no rooms other than premium or higher had AC). Our door was a bit stiff and needed a good elbow to be opened sometimes which is not fun when you have bad sunburn haha.

The pool is amazing, It looks a lot smaller in pictures advertised but it was a big enough in person. There are plenty of sun loungers but of course people were reserving them with their towels and disappearing for a few hours. We noticed people leaving towels on the beds at night time as well which I personally think is so mean. We found a lovely place just above the pool bar which led to a terrace with loads of sun loungers so we stayed there most of the time. (could do with more umbrellas) The pool bar is great if you want a refreshment although we didn't buy food at it. It seemed that anyone with half or full board could go up and take what they want such as burgers, fruit, hot dogs etc...

We stayed bed and breakfast only. It seemed like everyone else had half board or full board but we decided we wanted to explore and find places to eat. We found a very quick route to the beach which had loads of lovely lovely places to eat. If you put Playa de los christianos in google maps, you can find the shortcut which is literally 7 minutes walk to the beach. We ate in a place call 'Fados' and 'miramar' which we found lovely. Also there is a subway and The good burger on this strip of restaurants aswell.

*** If you keep walking over towards the boats on this beach, you will find a big tunnel which will bring you the Playa de la vistas beach which is always filled with restaurants and Bars.

If you are going and your in your twenties, a trip to the veronicas strip is worth it. It cost us around 7.50 in a taxi and there is a good amount of bars and restaurants there aswell.

We also travelled to Siam Park and IT IS A MUST. We left the hotel at 9.15, got there at 9.30 and queues were already busy. We got our tickets from the receptionist in the hotel and she explained the different prices etc. We wanted to get Fast passes (15euro) which you can get at any locker room once you have passed the entrance in the park. We got a fastpass for the morning so from 10am - 2pm, you get to go on each ride once and get to skip the queues which can be from 20 - 60 minute wait.

All over the holiday was brilliant. Can't fault it at all. Wifi was brilliant, staff were brilliant and there was a lovely little market in the basement of the hotel. It has nearly everything you need from cold water to suncream.

We definitely would stay again, Thank you TRYP hotel :)
