What People are saying

Bad internet connection

Tassarmaron 04/11/2016 04:51

I'm not too demanding on hotels, I just want a comfortable bed and good internet connection. This hotel had neither.
Wi-Fi signal was strong but the connection was so slow that it was useless. I ended up using my phone's internet instead.

The room was very nice and big, with a livingroom-kitchen area (no cooking items though) and balcony. The bathroom was small but good. The problem was the bed that was so hard that it seemed I was sleeping on the floor.

The common areas are very nice and the breakfast is ok (barely).

So the hotel is mostly ok, except for the two most important things. I don't think I will be coming back since I'd rather try luck in another place.

It's ok!

We stayed at this hotel during a 2-day trip to Medellin. It is located in a nice area (Laureles). However, the building is near an intersection that can get really noisy. We weren't lucky and heard more noise coming from a private party being held at the hotel's restaurant, and from repairs that started early on Saturday morning. The room was outdated though very clean. Breakfast was fine but selection can be more varied. If you don't mind the noise, and the old fashioned look this may be a good choice for you.

Comfortable hotel in a nice neighborhood

Medellin can be a noisy place with a lot of busy streets. I liked this reasonably priced hotel as it was on a quiet street near some decent restaurants and an 8 minute walk to a supermarket. The front desk people are friendly and very helpful. The breakfasts are good, not great but more than adequate to start you on your day. Overall it was a positive experience.

Beware new administrator

Robert_R_Calion 08/08/2014 07:29

First let me explain that this is one of the nicest feeling hotels in Medellin, great price and very at home feeling.

I have been staying there for 10 years while on business and refereed all of our friends and business associate to the hotel. We were responsible for on the average of 60 to 70 nights per year.

This all has ended since the new administrator arrived. I thought that it was odd that after 5 stays in the last 21 days she did not even introduce herself but she has made it an real challenge to stay in the hotel, the have instituted new reservation policy 50% up front, yup crazy, the front desk has become disorganized, the staff is now unhappy and do not like the way they are being asked to treat the customers. I have spent many years regarding this hotel as my home in Medellin and now the simple act of drinking coffee on the veranda has become complicated.

I wish the owner of the hotel and the staff as well, but we will not be returning and will be recommending another property.

I in no way believe that this will affect nor be important to the administrator or owners but I will not be the only one who will change their minds and find other accommodations.

If I could recommend one thing to the owners, remember a good hotel is about the staff and the guest not about hiring someone to sit behind a desk and dream up new rules and act important.

Completely unreliable - I would never book this hotel or this chain again.

I was booked into this hotel by a local university 6 weeks before my arrival. When we got there, they had lost the reservation and had no room. We insisted, my hosts produced the hotel's confirmation e-mail and I got a room, but was asked to move to a different room after the first night. Two nights later they asked me to move again, and I was not pleased, but I was furious when I saw the room they offered me - a bedroom off their top-floor office, no table or desk to work at, no safe. I flat out refused, and after much arguing they gave me back the room I had just vacated.

Worst of all was their attitude, which was that it was my problem, not theirs. If it wasn't for the hassle and the delays that would result, and the tight schedule I was on, I would have moved hotels.
