Great family run central hotel

This is a great hotel in the centre of Soldeu. It is family run and all the staff are very friendly and attentive. The rooms are perfectly adequate and spotless. The food for breakfast was good but there is no cooked breakfast.
There were a few negatives such as not replenishing the shampoo sachets after the first day, the safe was not working and the TV is rather old.
Overall however this is a very good and beautiful to look at hotel close to the Gondola station if you are coming for Skiing. It is now luxurious but you get what you pay for. I will gladly stay at this hotel again.

Ideal Ski Retreat

Hotel located close to Gondola/slopes & used by various nationalities so Cosmopolitan feel. Rooms compact but nicely furnished/clean.

Hotel staff were extremely pleasant/helpful and Ski lockers in the Basement.

The only real negative is the lack of selection in terms of Vegetarian food.

good location

Hotel is in a good location 5 minute walk to ski lifts we stayed in a room at back of hotel room was small.double bed small closet no draws not really anywhere to put all your cloths had to leave half in suitcase bathroom was good hairdryer soap and fresh towls every day can be a bit noisy at 4 in morn disco must kick out about then my advice get front facing room bigger and quieter. Had breakfast and dinner there food nice not a lot of choice staff friendly enough even though night person was happy to serve us beer and then kept turning lights of on us beer was 4 euroes a bottle of house red was about 6 or 7 euros. Clean hotel wifi ok only problem ya had to sign back in every time

Couple Ski Holiday

The hotel was very warm and inviting. It is situated 50 yards from the main road up a steep incline. Centrally located, 30 yards from the ski shop where we got our hire equipment and probably 300 yards from the gondola and ski lockers. The trick is to come out of the Hotel and go up the slope in front of you and follow the road to the end which comes out 5 yards away from the gondola / ski lockers, by going this way it is more of a flat walk. The hotel is quite small and the double rooms are smaller than the twin rooms. When I booked I booked a twin room because I knew they were slightly bigger and situated at the front of the hotel away from the disco and overlooking the mountain providing you have a 2nd floor room, otherwise you will be staring at the back of another building. The staff are friendly and nothing seems to much trouble. The food is buffet style with a cooked breakfast, cereals, yoghurts and pastries in the morning. The evening meal was buffet style again and always had a soup, salads and a fish and 2 meats along with various potato and veg choices in the hot buffet. The bar prices were good with a glass of wine costing £1.80 and a pint of san Miguel costing about £3.20, this was based on the exchange rate we got when we travelled, 0.87p to 1 euro. The internet was good and could even get a good connection in our room on the second floor and for a small cost safety deposit boxes were available in the rooms.The ski lockers at the gondola station were not cheap at 55 euro but because we knew the price we found someone else at our hotel to share with as the lockers can take 4 lots of equipment or 6 at a push. There was a small queue at the gondola first thing every morning so we got the lift to the bottom crossed the bridge and took the chair lift up every morning except 1. There is also a supermarket opposite the hotel on the other side of the main road and numerous places to eat but we were half board so did not bother as dinner time we ate on the mountain. Soldeu is an amazing place to ski with 61 runs between it and el tartar. The coach stop was just at the bottom of the hill so not far to walk when leaving or arriving. Also even though we had to be on the coach at 0410 the restaurant opened up at 0330 so we could have some food before leaving. Normal breakfast without the hot buffert.

Excellent Location

We went end of this February 2017 for a skiing Holiday loved the Hotel room comfortable had all the facilities we needed. Breakfast was included loved the food. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent location so close for the Gondola and for the Bars and Restaurants
