We are just back from a week stay at the solimar ruby hotel. We arrived late and had food and water in the fridge for us. The rooms were big we had a superior room and I have to admit it was the comfiest bed I've ever slept in on holiday.. rooms were clean and big. And cleaned daily, Staff were friendly and always smiling.. restaurant was great, yet again staff helpful and friendly. I'm a very fussy eater and I never once left feeling hungry.. the pool area was great clean and right by the bar.. the only thing I was a bit annoyed was the hotel has another hotel beside it. The ruby royal and the guests from that hotel used our restaurant and bar and pool... no issue apart from when u went for a sunbed most were taken by the guests from other hotel. And we weren't allowed to use their pool. And twice during our stay we went over to see how busy there pool was only to find only a handful of guests around there pool.. think this policy needs changed... The location of hotel was great just a short walk to a great beach in one direction and in the other the main strip of malia.. would recommend this hotel to anyone. And would most definitely return. Great location, great staff, great food and great hotel and not forgetting great weather.
My partner and I had a wonderful weeks stay at Ruby Solimar. We arrived quite late but were shown wonderful hospitality. We asked to move rooms the next day and we were accommodated very professionally. We really enjoyed the facilities at the hotel it's very well looked after. The pool is a sun trap and a lovely place to relax right next to the bar. The staff are fantastic they work super hard and are really friendly and easy to chat too. The food is a brilliant selection and fresh everyday. During our stay the hotel hosted a Greek food and entertainment night. It was brilliant the food was delicious and the staffs dancing was most entertaining! Another wonderful thing about the hotel is all the beautifully maintained plants, they are stunning it's obvious that someone is working very hard to look after these. If you stay at this hotel it is only a little walk away to the main strip of Mali which is perfect.
We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend so many thanks to all the kind hard working staff!

Came to the Solimar Ruby hotel for a holiday with 6 of my friends. First of all, with one of them being vegetarian, all she could eat for lunch and dinner every day was dry pasta, salad and chips as they didn't have a great selection of food. This resulted in us all eating out for dinner and lunch for the last two days of our holiday. The air conditioning in our rooms hardly worked and we struggled to sleep at night due to the room being too hot. You could only have certain drinks off the menu for all inclusive, there's only one point of the day where they put snacks out and it's an hour after lunch and the snacks were chips and dry pastries. However, every other all inclusive hotel I have been to have a snack bar which have things from crisps to hot dogs. On our final day, we weren't getting picked up from the hotel until 7pm for our flights so we asked two days in advance if we could keep one of the rooms and they said it would be fine and it would be 30 Euro. The receptionist then decided to tell us an hour before we needed to be out the room that we couldn't keep the room as it was booked out. The hotel room itself was clean but still would not recommend the hotel to anyone.
I was on holidays with mother and two children (6 and 7 years old). The hotel is modern and very clean. Staff super friendly and helpful. We had special requirements because of the 7 years old baby girl who has asthma. The staff took care of all our specific requests in a fast and very professional manner. Thank you to the cleaning team, reception desk and restaurant& bar team.
Special thank you for the exceptional food. We were impressed with the variety of food: meat (lamb, chicken, rabbit, pork etc.) fish, seafood etc.. etc... Not to mention desserts. Honestly exceptional.
We were very happy with the swimming pools (not too much smell of chlorine).
Hotel has two bars, extremely good drinks and very friendly bar staff, playing very good music.
I must say staff guaranteed a family atmosphere in the hotel.
Children could stay long hours, playing cards, board games or simply playing football with other kids.
Thank you very much for all the effort of the hotel staff and the managers.
By the way, the mangers- Hotel Manager, Bar and Restaurant Manager and the Chef - were present and available everyday to all hotel guests.
On the negative side, the distance from the hotel to the sea is about 600m. You have to walk to get to the sea about 20mins. It is doable but not ideal.
me and my wife have just returned ,after 2 weeks fabulous holiday in the solimar ruby hotel, malia,
this hotel is one of the best all inclusive hotels we have visited ,and we have travelled over most of the world
the staff ,from the reception desk, cleaning people, bar staff and the restaurant staff, are the friendlies and most helpful people you will find when you visit this hotel.
the hotel is up to date, the interior areas are very clean, from the restaurant, poolside, gardens, and the bars.
we stayed in a superior room, which was very spacious,it had a queen side double bed, ample clothing space, plenty of draws for clothes etc.,air conditioning which is free of charge, safe was in the wardrobe,(this is reasonably charged)tea and coffee making facilities.a balcony with table and chairs ,a flat screen tv,large bathroom with hairdryer.and the added touch of being supplied a dressing gown and slippers, the cleaning maids kept the room very clean and the towels and linen where changed daily.
we where all inclusive, and the food in the restaurant was of a very high standard, there was choices of European dishes and also greek dishes, also some specialities cooked by the chef at the griddle, the choice was vast at all meal times.
the poolside bar served the free drinks from around 10,45 untill 23.00,the choice was also good here, with beer, cocktails and hot drinks, also icecream available, and snacks throughout the day.
there are plenty of sunbeds round the pool, and the pool itself was a very good size.theres also a childrens pool and kids play area with the usual kids toys.
the wifi is available free in the lobby area, and I managed to get it around the pool bar also (but don,t say anything)
the hotel is situated about 500 yards from malia main street, with it,s shops and bars, and just a short walk to the notorious malia strip, which leads down to malia,s beautifull beach, there are bus stops in malia main street, for all the other beautifull resorts to the west or east of malia, and the buses are very frequent, and also run late, cheap also
finally I would like to thank everyone at the solimar ruby hotel, for making my wife and myselfs stay at your hotel one of the most enjoyable holidays we have ever had,,,thank you
