Convenient Business Hotel
Amethysticon 29/06/2017 08:44The Sorell Aarauerhof is situated adjacent to the Aarau train and bus stations and offers excellent and convenient connectivity through the public transport system. The hotel is clean and tidy with efficient and friendly staff. The rooms are quite basic and bathrooms small, but this is to be expected by Swiss standards.
The strife of patrons during summer months is well documented in previous reviews and the Hotel management should provide table fans to guests. I was lucky as the temperatures were manageable with the windows open wide, although it was considerably noisy. The bane of being close to busy stations.
The food was above par and staff extremely helpful and courteous. I found the room tidied up and supplies restocked on all of my 5 days of stay. The hotel provides you with a choice of pillows so be sure to ask the reception staff if the one in the room is no good. During my stay, there was also a Spa service on offer, which seemed like a nice touch.
On the downside, drinking water bottles should be provided in the room on a daily basis and not handed over at the reception. Toilet fittings are beginning to feel a bit run down as is some of the upholstery in the rooms.
Overall a pleasant stay. Was out of the room most of the time as this was a business trip.

Kelissimaon 29/06/2017 06:25The rooms are small and clean. The minus to the side is that the sound insulation between rooms is lousy. Also, the rooms don't have AC. It get's quite hot inside (big windows).
The breakfast is OK. The staff is friendly.
Swiss quality in hell hot.
Traderjvon 28/06/2017 12:23Clean, well situated rite opposite railway and bus station. Very convenient (but expensive) underground parking with direct elevator to Hotel. Very good breakfast.
We was unlucky stay here with our dog with +32 in room and "No air-conditioning" sign at entrance...
No restraunt on Swiss holiday!!!!
Allan Hon 18/06/2017 14:17I have stayed in this hotel several times on business trips and always thought it was ok although always very hot in the rooms. This visit I arrived on a Swiss holiday and was told on arrival that the bar and restraunt was closed!!! How many hotels close their facilities for a holiday?? Will stay somewhere else next time I am in the area

Rooms are small, but they are cosy to keep you warm during snowfall. Breakfast is limited but it offers a nice taste to European spread.
Staff is extremely friendly and they ll guide if you if you need any help.
Local store, restaurants are at a doorstep. Even an Asian corner for vegetarians.
