Good Location and Service
Deepshika15on 28/02/2017 13:51We stayed here in August of last year for 3 nights. The Receptionist was very friendly and we had a nice chat with her about the places in and around Arosa. She also arranged for the Arosa card that you receive when statying overnight in Arosa to access the Gondolas. The room was cozy with a small seating area with sofa and a tv. The bed was comfortable and bathroom neat & tidy. The breakfast spread was good and very filling. We had dinner in their restaurant one of the nights, and it was excellent. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and fell in love with Arosa :)
Nice location
madmeieron 05/08/2016 07:22I just stayed for one night during a hiking trip in the hotel. I enjoyed the time there. The room I had was small but with all the comfort I expected. All hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent.
A pleasant surprise
foxbotton 27/04/2016 19:47This review relates to the restaurant only. We ate here on a Saturday night because everywhere else was full (be warned - Arosa is busy at the weekend). Most of the other clientele were half boarders, but the a la carte menu had some interesting Swiss specialities which we weren't offered anywhere else. The staff were also excellent and very welcoming. The dining room was as you would expect in a modern tourist hotel, but we certainly enjoyed our evening
Great location, friendly staff
Zwelgenon 27/02/2016 20:43We stayed here with friends for 4 nights and had a great time. It's really close to the main gondola and an easy walk from the train station. The breakfast was very generous with a good spread of cereal, bread, cheese, meat, bircher muesli and sxrambled/soft boiled egg and bacon and great coffee. The staff were helpful and spoke good English. The room was very clean and quiet and view over the town lovely.
Unexpectedly good
archibaldaon 20/01/2016 22:56I was fully prepared to dislike this little hotel for which we paid top dollar due to booking VERY late right before the Christmas period. There is really nothing remarkable about the installations and the room was reminiscent of the 70's but on the plus side, with a shared terrace and a great mountain view.
After a very good night's sleep in a comfortable bed with starched sheets and a lovely cosy duvet, heaps of high-pressure boiling water in the shower and an exceptionally good and varied breakfast buffet with the best selection of delicious bread and other organic, top quality products, we had completely fallen head over heals in love with the place. An extremely good lunch washed down with Gluhwein on the street-level restaurant terrace served to confirm this.
The hotel is well-located, a 2 minute walk from the station, on the main street by a bus stop. I do think the prices are rather high, but Switzerland in general is frighteningly expensive at the moment with the CHF virtually level with the Euro and if this place is expensive, I hate to think what hotels with more stars to their name must cost.
Anybody going to Arosa looking for basic comfort, friendly and discreet service, a simple but cosy room and bathroom and very good food could do a lot worse than to head straight to the Sorell.
