Perfect place for a short stay in Ghent.
Good location, 20 minute walk to centre. Nice room and good breakfast. Owner is very helpful giving helpful advice. Parking available opposite at about 5 euros for24 hours.

We stayed here with our son in a room (really two large rooms) and three beds. Nice room, close to Art Museum, and really cheap parking (€5.50 for 24 hours). Great breakfast with lovely view out to garden. Bit of a walk into town but we liked this as it's an interesting route, past the Vorhuit, across canals etc. Linda was very welcoming and helpful. Far better than staying in an anonymous Hotel. Try Amadeus for all you can eat ribs and any bar for some excellent Belgian Beer. Thanks Linda.

Location & Hosting Goodness

I picked Sparrow's Nest based on 2 things - location and good reviews. I was not disappointed. The location was close to the train and easy to find. Better than that, it was kiddy-corner to a park perfect for a runner like me. It was also very direct to a route leading to the heart of Ghent. The B & B was very clean & safe and the breakfast was quite good, complete with nice strong coffee. My only qualm was in the loudness of the room at night. Students were gallivanting into the wee hours & since my room faced the street, it was difficult to get to sleep. The bed, however, was very comfy and the deep tub in my room was a wonderful respite after a day of walking for hours in the rain. All in all, I would completely recommend this charming B & B.

I was given the suite on the first floor. My preference had been a room at the back and that was where the bed was in the suite, but the rooms can't be separated. Luckily, the double glazing keeps out traffic noise effectively. If you're a light sleeper, the white curtains could be more of a threat. The beautiful fin de siecle house is sort of split level, so the bathroom for the first floor is not in the apartment but a few steps down and then up the stairs.
Linda prepared me an excellent breakfast in her apartment on the ground floor with a great view of the garden.

Clean + Friendly.

I had a nice room looking away from the street. The hotel was very clean. Linda was a gracious and kind host with very nourishing breakfasts. The B and B was clean, close to major sights. I would recommend to anyone spending time in wonderful Gent.
