Bed Bug Report
my2cents082017on 15/08/2017 00:26In many ways, this is perhaps the best hotel property in Terre Haute. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the rooms are large and well appointed. Unfortunately we woke up to bed bug bites. My wife had a large cluster of bites on her back and I had smaller ones on my leg. We had some experience with bed bugs from a few years back when as a frequent traveler I brought bed bugs back to our home after a business trip. We know what bed bug bites look like. (It took two years to rid ourselves of the bed bugs in our home!) I am not trying to cause this hotel any problems, but I have come to realize how significant this problem is! I did report the issue to the front desk, and they assured me that they would check it out. I can only hope that they took this as serious as I do.

I am a platinum member and have been for years. I stayed here in June, but was disappointed in having one of the worst night's sleep-EVER! The AC unit was so loud, it couldn't even be classified as white noise. We were on a quick road trip so sleeping was important for safety!
I reported this problem to the front desk before leaving. A day later I received a kind and apologetic email, but thought that it wasn't enough. That's what I said in my first post.
I am happy to report that Marriott did not disappoint! They refunded a huge portion of my points!

A good stay overall but has room for improvement....
bmassociatebrokeron 05/07/2017 15:59Stayed at this hotel on business for 13 nights. Here's the short of it:
* Staff - Excellent & accommodating.
* Room - Good....Spacious but the air conditioner never cuts off when it reaches the
desired temp and only goes from LOUD to LOUDER....So freaking annoying!
* Breakfast - OK....nice to have a hot breakfast available but they could occasionally
switch out the ashy looking sausage for some bacon a day or two. Bacon was only
on the buffet 1 day out of 13.
* Fitness Center - HORRIBLE ...it's about 7x12, has 2 treadmills, a bicycle, a towel
credenza, a water cooler, and a dumb bell holder. 2 people can't be in there at the
same time and this is NOT an exaggeration. There is not enough room between the
machines or the perimeter for a little person to even do a lunge. I had to take the
hand weights outside to do my daily workout. There is a patio behind the fitness
room that could easily be used to expand because all it's being used for now is for
smoking.
Clean Hotel
Rob Mon 30/06/2017 04:37Drove here from Manhattan, Kansas. For $134, clean, spacious hotel, free WiFi, breakfast, newspaper, gym, and pack and play for infants. Easy location. Tons of restaurants around. Worth the stop. Check in was quick and staff were friendly and helpful. Thanks
Pleasantly Quiet
weathergrl123on 03/06/2017 17:57We arrived after midnight after being on the road all day. We found the hotel to be quiet and comfortable, which is exactly what we needed after a long day. This appears to be an older hotel that has been recently renovated. I believe it being an older hotel is a big reason why it was so sound proof. We stayed next to another family that was dealing with some upset infants/toddlers and the only reason we knew about it was that we were getting into our room at the same time the front desk attendant was bringing them more pillows and sheets. It was so nice to have privacy from other visitors on the same floor. My fiancé's only complaint would be that the air conditioning unit causes a low frequency hum in the wall by where you put your head to sleep (I could actually only hear it when my head was on the pillow). This bothered him, but I was so tired I didn't mind it. Coffee was quite good. Didn't have a chance to try much of the free breakfast since we slept in. Seems like a good location with plenty of food options nearby. We will definitely stay here again. This is a much quieter exit than the one an hour west in Effingham.
