Don't stay here!

This motel is absolutely disgusting. Paint peeling off the wall, which were filthy. The SMELL in the room was so rancid, I had to go out and buy spray. The bathroom, I'm not even going to go there. The sheets and blankets felts like sandpaper. This was a last minute stop, thank goodness we were leaving in the morning. DONT STAY HERE.

We had to travel to Woodstock NY three times this summer as our son was cast at the Woodstock Playhouse. Not only was everything in Woodstock mostly booked, what we could find was very expensive. We took our chances on the Superlodge and were very pleased. This is not a high end hotel and there are very few amenities aside from free wifi. The rooms were clean and they are slowly renovating. You can't beat the price for a hotel in this area. We stayed there on 3 different occasions.

Seriously needs help!

This was my second stay at the Superlodge. I stayed here last year at the same time (end of July) when my daughter attended the HITS horse show in Saugerties. They need to seriously do some maintenance and upgrades if they want to continue charging $90 a night. The paint was peeling off the roof of the hotel, we arrived at 9:30 pm and had to wait 10-15 minutes for someone to come to the front desk to check us in, the hallways smell funky, the decor is very out dated, the linens are super old and practically see through, pillows were flat, the door and frame to the bathroom was painted metal and rusting, it looks like they did some remodeling in the bathrooms but the quality of the work was horrible (grout and caulking), the hairdryer in the bathroom smelled like it was burning when you used it, the water had a yellow ting to it the furniture was scratched and the only outlet was a power strip that was zip tied to the desk leg. The WiFi was horrible. The man I spoke to at the front desk when I called the week before to confirm my reservation was VERY nice and reserved me a room with a refrigerator which was very helpful. If I go to HITS Saugerties next year I will be staying someplace else. Sorry...I really wanted this place to work out because it is in my budget and has easy access to the highway.

Superlodge not so super

I knew this was not a really highly rated hotel but who knew how much lower than my expectations it turned out to be. Where to start? A plus to the hotel was the often mentioned diner next dorr. CLOSED. The desk clerk said it had been sold and was under renovation. Next--the seasonal pool. I was pretty sure we were in luck for it to be the right season. Well, it would have been EXCEPT the aforementioned clerk said it was closed because of some sort of bacteria and they were unable to get the required permit from the board of health. Guess it is bacteria season? The outside doors were just open--you did not need a card key to gain access--so I did not feel it was a particularly safe place to stay--both outside doors we used did not need cards. The telephone in our room did not work--so when I wanted to arrange a wake up call OR tell them that the light fixtures over the bed were not working, I couldn't. The long black hair (we are blondes) in the bath tub was just the icing on the cake.

That photo is from years ago.

The paint is peeling off the roof (showing blue underneath). The rooms smell moldy. Every piece of equipment in the lobby is out of order. The diner has been under renovation (for years by the look of it) but you can still make reservations there.
