What People are saying

Comfortable and convinient

Maximuslkon 09/02/2017 09:34

Tamana, a few km away from the city center is in a residential area. That its located right next to main road means that there is a lot of vehicular traffic going by spoiling the serenity of the place.

Service is reasonable, rooms are specious and though lacking a few things, comfortable. The pros 1st: Comfortable bed, a very good AC, good water pressure and hot. The cons: There is no door to the bathroom, just a curtain and no lights. The AC, in room #18 is loud, but effective. No fan.

Its proximity to a couple of restaurants make it convenient if you don't have your own transport. Breakfast was good, looked very nice when served. Its proximity to Bamako night life means though that there is quite a bit of noise between 4 and 5am!

Would certainty use this again as a base.

A Pleasant Hotel

This small hotel, was a pleasant surprise in Bamako, Mali. It has the atmosphere of a boutique hotel, with a beautiful courtyard, swimming pool and a nice reception area/breakfast room.

Our room was generously large, with a nice bathroom. The whole hotel seemed clean and well looked after. The A/C worked well and the patio bar was a real treat. The only drawback I can find is the swimming pool has no shallow area, it is all nearly 2m in depth, so probably not suitable for children unless they are closely supervised.

The included breakfast was French bread, jam & butter, coffee or tea; promptly served and no limits on the brewed coffee or baguettes.

There are several nice restaurants along the street. Night clubs in the area are pretty noisy and seem to run practically all night, so a room on the back side away from the street is best.

Quaint value hotel

Hotel Tamana is a great little hotel. I've stayed here 10+ times transiting through Bamako to the north. The staff is friendly and helpful. Richard, Lamine and Nicholas will tend to your requests and concierge needs about the local area. Cleaning staff are quiet and friendly. Anxiously waiting for their restaurant opening, there are plenty of restos within walking distance or others in a 5-10 min taxi ride. If you like Italina, Residence Palermo for Italian food is 2 minutes away. Best Pizza in town. True to previous posts about local music noise, however, with your TV on, you can't here it. I recommend this hotel value because you get a lot for the price compared to other hotels in the city. The best is that it is small and will never feel crowded.

Just ok, kind of slack and oh the noise from the adjoining nightclubs!

We stayed at Hotel Tamana in January, 2014. The room we stayed in was OK, the staff didn't seem at all interested. As others have noted there are a lot of people coming and going but when you need assistance, there is no one (helpful) to be found. Breakfast was included in the accommodation price. It was just OK and rather skimpy, there was no other food available. The staff were not forthcoming with recommendations for good places to eat. We went over the road to an ice cream place which had very nice sandwiches.

The pool was nice.

However the BIG problem with this hotel is it in the Hippodrome district which has lots of 'doof doof' nightclubs which close at about 4 - 5 am. So if you can sleep through all night loud 'doof doof' and the commotion when the nightclubs tip their patrons out at 5 am, good luck. I'm sure there are better places to stay in Bamako.

We wouldn't come here again, and we can't recommend this hotel as a place to stay.
