What People are saying
not as bad as reviews read
Maryloyetteson 24/07/2016 16:55having read the reviews after we booked I thought..oh no..but we were pleasantly surprised..The Hotel is in the process of being updated, some areas have been painted and some are in the process of being painted.. It appears all areas are wheelchair suitable, with lifts too most floors and large flat areas..I didn't ask for a disabled room so therefore don't know if they have them..I struggled too get in the bath for a shower' and put a towel on the bath floor too stop me slipping....The dining room looks freshly painted and new aircon was being put in..The breakfast was excellent and the best morning was when the chef was there cutting fresh fruit pots..dinner in the evening was varied but seemed too lack flavour some nights..but being a thalasso Hotel maybe a bit light on Salt...The Bar Area was not very well stocked and feel that more could be made of that..we didn't use the Spa facilities so cannot comment..the main outside pool was very clean as were the terraces and the room.. we did pay for an upgraded room but not sure we had one..it was clean and comfortable and had aircon...it did say that they are in the process of painting the rooms etc.. the waiting staff were exceptionally friendly as were reception..so over all not bad
Too many faults
stillworkingat68on 05/03/2016 11:42The hotel entrance is far from welcoming. Only space for 1 car to unload the luggage and the a long wait at reception with only one couple in front. A 5 minute + check in procedure.
The room provided a small terrace with an excellent view over the bay and town, otherwise clean but basic. Beware of the wc, anybody tall will bang their heads over the water heater situated directly over the toilet. No shower curtain.
We did not use the Spa facilities.
A large pool divided into two sections with one side used by length swimmers. Water at a very acceptable temperature although the salt/chemicals resulted in stinging eyes.
The continental breakfast was good, note only scrambled eggs as a warm dish.
Dinner was a disgrace, even the apple tart a French classic was inedible. No ice bucket for the white wine, food overcooked.
For the price a disappointing exprience
Pleasant, no luxury, serves the purposes
Onego0on 16/10/2015 02:47I read the reviews on RCI website and it helped me to be prepared for the experience.
It was a nice experience since our purpose was - health. There was everything that we could think of in terms of treatments, swimming pools, sauna, steam room, nice staff, good food in the restaurant, and add to this beautiful area, nice weather, beach just 200 meter away
Not as bad as most of the reviews ... Average and pleasant enough, no luxury !
Fabou1307on 24/05/2015 19:21Sea water pool is good, food is really good, we booked a week "zen" which included 4 massages booked together as half day (they gave us our planning on arrival and you can swap things around), a day, 6 nights 5 days treatment half board, for less than £1000 for the week.
Sea view room, and the location outside the hotel is really great, so you can enjoy the Med, the pyrenees, walking, the "outdoors".
Definitely helps if you speak French, the hotel bar was closed every afternoon but we went to local villages instead, definitely no luxury but average.
We asked for a kettle for our room which we got overnight,
Bathroom dated, but overall clean, some staff more pleasant than others ..
Overall the hotel needs some tlc and the spa needs some warmer special touches for sure ... Enjoy Collioure !!
Tired, needs investment. The spa is poor and not worth the charge.
ManFromLondon186338on 11/10/2014 22:30We stayed for a week due to a time share swap. The quality of the hotel was well below that of the one we were swapping from. The rooms and bathrooms are simple but need work. There were cracked tiles in the room and bathroom and no shower curtain. The common areas are also very plain. On the positive side the rooms were clean and serviced well.
The spa is very out dated and seems to have had no investment in years. The pool area is not very welcoming and again cracked tiles. It is like a public pool area.
However, the real disappointment was the spa treatment. We had to take a 15 session treatment plan which cost E349. Half the ' treatments' are group water class exercises, there were a waste of time. There were three seaweed treatments which were fine and 4 water massages which were not. They seemed to be in a rush to get them over with and despite the fact they should be 15-20min one was only 10min as they seemed behind schedule. However, they were hardly massages and not like anything we have had prior to this. As you have to take the spa option in my view it is a rip off!
They are stuck in the 1970s and the rest of the world has moved on. I would give this place a miss.
