Great Stay and Good Food

Remarkable room, staff and ambiance

Sparkless, spacious room, thoughtful design including bed, lighting and shower.
Staff was very polite and helpful, food at the restaurant generous and at least as good as all other places we tried around.
I would stay longer if I could...
A delightful surprise
KUSH Mon 05/06/2017 20:35Set in the small town of Hassan, The Ashok is probably the closest accommodation option to a star hotel in town. A large garden and picturesque entrance make it quite a delight to see, especially when one enters the hotel. Although my expectations from the hotel were not set high, especially given the fact that one cannot expect the class and finesse like that of chain hotels in bigger towns, the hotel does indeed leave you with a smile on your face. The diligent front desk and the housekeeping staff does infact add to an overall joyful experience. The rooms are extremely large and completely justify the price point the hotel claims to be at. Perhaps the only improvement that the hotel needs, is in the department of food. A very dull and repititive menu was a little off putting and a few lazy crew members in the restaurant staff with forgetful minds left us literally "hungry for more". Overall a good stay with few critiques. Despite the downfalls definitely the best stay option available in Hassan!

Very average experience
Vinod Kumaar Ron 03/05/2017 14:13From the outside when you look at this hotel, it looks like it is worth the money they charge for. The good experience stops once you check in, apart from the front desk staff there is no one in the hotel seems to be experienced in the hospitality industry.
The check in process is nice, with a welcome drink and cold towel to refresh but everything stops there.
The room service is slow and error prone, we also got a wrong order delivered midnight and also got billed for it without our signature. We had to forgo our meals at the hotel and went outside for food everyday of stay as it was not of good taste and quality.
There are also events happening at the hotel which reduces the usage time for pool by guests, and during events the service for the hotel guests dips further. Only the front desk staff seems to be qualified to work at star hotels, the rest are clueless and follow the orders received from their managers.
