The speciality is it is surrounded 3 side by the Kodai Lake. That is the great scene if you view from other side you can see The Carlton Hotel set on the banks of the shimmering Kodai Lake.
Features of the hotels : a sauna, massage center, 4 different dining venues and a scenic bar. Beautiful Grass Lawn. Wonder ful atmosphere. No Chance to rewarded other hotels in Kodaikkanal to beat The Carlton. There is free boat ride also offered by Hotel depend upon seasons.
Having space for sports/ recreation too. fitness centre, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and massage are available
A game room consisting of air-hockey, pool table, table tennis, board games, billiards, badminton and kids playing area is also accessible to guests.

Very good but need to conference facilities

Summary- Overall I was very happy with the service but the audio system offered as part of the conference package was poor.
We booked a family room for 2 adults and 2 children- the room was of decent size but would struggle to fit 2 children. Easily accommodates 2 adults and 1 child. Has all the necessary amenities. Few rooms have sitting space, others don't. So if you are booking as a group, some may end up with smaller rooms.
Positives
- fast and easy check in
- 24 hr manned reception
- lots of staff, eager to help
- excellent South Indian food, impressed by the choices and option of hot food during the breakfast- different types of dosa and omelettes freshly made
- nice location, close to the lake, plenty of space walk around, sit or play
- lots of activities offered by the hotel for kids (and adults)
Things to be aware of- Some rooms have limited sitting space.
Disappointed- We as a group were very disappointed with the audio visual system offered as a part of the conference facilities by the hotel. One of the two mics provided did not work for most of the time which meant all planned activities were interrupted several times. It was frustrating to see kids performance disrupted due to the sound system malfunction- did not expect this from a 5* hotel!
Internet facility is available free of charge but poor in most of the areas. So you probably can't rely on this for important meetings.
