What People are saying

Decent for the price

Was a good stay
Nice cosy bed although the room was very very cramped, but it's what you expect in a guest house.
Our room was on the first floor, and we got given a key and a phone number in arrival.
Room had a bed, tv, lamp, writing desk, built in wardrobe, and bed side tables, and the en suite had a shower, toilet and sink. Bathroom was decent, shower was nice.
Five minute walk away from the sea front and the promenade, the sea life centre in moments away.
Breakfast was nice, was offered a full breakfast etc although I normally feel sick in the morning so I won't eat a lot.
There was a breakfast bar full of cereals, juices and a few other bits and bobs.
The tables has menus on, and I got served by a lovely lady who did me some toast and a pot of tea which I thoroughly enjoyed.
The radio is on while you enjoy breakfast, and there is a beautiful decked garden with a frosted glass roof to enjoy a cigarette also.
Would recommend to anyone looking for a decent place to stay for a cheap price, was around £140/£150 ish for two nights.

Will be back

I loved this place Patrick is great and the girls are so lovely. We had room 5 and it for it's purpose, double bed and en suite. Very central and Tesco etc near by. Parking can be difficult on the road but we were lucky in getting one. Patrick sells the permits at £12 for 24 hours. Will return.

Ok for a break

Overpriced I have stayed in nicer hotels than this guesthouse cheaper than we paid for this, rooms small all though we had a superior room the sink in the room was that small you could just manage to wash your hands in it ,my son and girlfriends room was at the top of the house he is 6 foot 4 tall and had about 4ins room from the ceiling, everything was clean breakfast was nice but don't sit outside, its in need of some repair and needs cleaning didn't think it was worth the money all though it was a bank holiday .

Wow!! A little gem.

Stayed at The Kelvin for our wedding anniversary 30th September for 2 nights last minute search for hotel/guest house for the weekend. Stayed in superior double room and it was amazing. Really friendly welcome upon arrival whilst I laid on a few surprises for my wife for when she arrived. Even helped us with parking permit. Room fabulous, bed comfy and double shower was beautiful. Breakfast was lovely and really friendly service, even arranged for us to have an early breakfast on Sunday morning as sadly had to go to work. Would not hesitate to recommend and will be staying here again soon. Thank you. Wayne and Debbie.

Awful Dump

Sheffieldtraveller17on 21/09/2016 23:21

I have never used the word dump in a review but I am afraid that what this place is. The place is dirty and tatty. The carpets are stained and clearly not well cleaned. The TV remote didn't work so I couldn't watch the TV. The sink in the room was so small that a shave was nearly impossible. The shower head was loose and you had to hold it over you as otherwise the jet of water was not directed over you but straight onto the floor. The room was not clean and the curtains looked dirty. I didn't try breakfast as the poor cleanliness made me not risk it. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
