Quilon beach hotel is a descent hotel ideal for both families and business travelers those like to relax after a busy day... i recommend this hotel for people looking for quality and value for money..

Overpriced A la carte!

Th Quilon Beach Hotel's restaurant is not very lenient to patrons who order 'a la carte'. We ordered Prawns and the price was unbelievably exorbitant..even for a hotel boasting a five star status!
The platter contained barely 6 prawns with the heads separated. We also ordered 'meen polichathu' and Kerala porottas.
On hindsight I think the buffet would have been a better choice.
Saves time and money.
...and there is no 'happy hour' at the bar.

Cannot be terms as a Five star hotel

i came here on 3rd aug'17 and had a corporate booking.. Firstly i asked them to change my booking to Double occupancy and they said i will have to pay an additional fee of Rs 3000+taxes which was abnormally very high.. Then i asked my company to get the changes done and they said i have to pay only Rs.500 extra..
Then when i came to the room there was no drinking water+ menu card to order food.. I had to call for the same... While having dinner as well as lunch i found "hair" in the food ordered and thus has to change my order..
Rooma are gloomy and not bright... I will definetely not call this hotel a Five star hotel...
Only good thing about my stay was the awesome beach view from my room and the fact that the beach is just 5 mins walkable distance from the hotel..

A Joke of High Prices

This place was OK but not for the high price. Priced accordingly, I would have rated it a star higher. The ocean view from the superior room was the one redeeming point. And, although the hotel is showing it's age, the sheets were clean and things were OK.

Luckily, we were able to book a room online, and it ONLY cost about $100 (US). The hotel wanted almost $200 for the same room when booked directly. They are oblivious as far as price and value. Even the decent view on the ocean doesn't make an average, and worn Indian hotel worth $100, let alone $200.

The buffet dinner was OK, but nothing special. The breakfast was the same.

An even bigger joke was when I asked about a taxi to the railway station (less than 2 KM and only about 5+ min away) and was quoted a price of 750.- rupees! When I said that it was only 2km, the woman at the counter replied that it was a hotel taxi. We managed to flag down a rickshaw for 30 rupees.

They are living in some sort of bizarre price world here.

Our driver brought us here for a quick lunch on our way to Kovalam.
Beatifull setting overlooking the beach and the Arabian Gulf.
In the dining room we wanted to order 2 beers but were informed that no alcohol was served but that we could get tose drinks in the bar on the first floor and we could also get snacks there.
Up to the bar were many gentleman were having their favourite drinks . We ordered beer and grilled prawns. Service by a haidwaiter was a bit "hautain". We had the impression that we were intruding in a private club.
After 30 minutes still no prawns and we informed the waiter we would have to leave if the food was not served within the next 15 minutes.
Food came shortly after and was of good quality. We paid and told we were disappointed about the long wait ; the waiter answered it was a "kitchen-problem" and that we should complain at the reception downstairs, what we did. They seemed surprised but called the "Chef" who excused profusely and explained that the prawns arrived to late. We were still unhappy but accepted his apologies and appreciated that he came to see us.
We reget this icident because hotel, hall , reception, swimming-pool all lool ver nice and clean.
We guess that someone in the kitchen had a bad day !
