What People are saying

Sells only for its location

Manaswanion 14/08/2017 06:44

Location of the resort is no doubt excellent with mesmerizing views. Apart from this, there is nothing which even comes close to justifying the price tag of this resort. Food here is pathetic. Services are lousy. We had to remind them for each and everything. The representative who assisted us in booking convinced us that it is a five star property, however if we look at the service, room types and food, it is no where close to a five star, not even a 4-star.

Good property but way too much traffic

We were here after 7 years for a quite break this summer. A big positive that resort remains an excellent place to unwind and relax, good room & food and awesome lawns to spend leisurely afternoons & evenings. However the traffic on the road to Solang Valley has grown multifold and if you happen to be in one of the rooms towards the road, you ll be woken up with some honking and construction work going on in the vicinity. This was more as we went there in the peak season on June.

Rooms are still good and clean and they have a new extension of Presidential suites which is good for a family. As we were with our 2 teenagers, this was a good choice as you get a huge bedroom with three side views, an equally big living room which can be used for additional bedroom and two bathrooms. Quite like hiring a service apartment. For initial couple of days we were in the suite on the roadside but were moved to the other side which was really quite and peaceful.

Food remains good however the buffet can become a routine if you are here for over 3 nights, but isn't that same for most places. Usually the quality & preparation was good and best part was that we were always greeted with a big smile by Mr. Thakur who was always at the door making you feel welcome. Thats become a rarity in restaurants specially when it gets busy, but this man was an exception. Made all the difference. There are two other restaurants that operate during the day, one being in the lawns, that tries to do Italian dishes. Again the food is good, they serve you well and the ambience is unparalleled as you eat sitting in lush green lawns surrounded by snow clad peaks. We will leave the "Italian" part as that would good for a foodie blog.

The staff generally was courteous but always looked stressed out. Could be lack of training, experience or simply the pressure of the peak season. This is one area the team really needs to work as this remains one of the better properties in the north Indian hills.

They also have a spa now that you could use for unwinding, again the staff is very helpful but not that very well trained but than you are not paying as you would at a a Hilton on Hyatt.

Overall, its a good place to stay for a couple of days, I would really like to do this in off season as Manali has become so overcrowded that its better avoided in summer.

A beautiful resort with a plethora of activities and friendly staff.Loved staying in this well maintained and nature friendly resort. The icing on the cake was definitely the breathtaking view of the glaciers and the exciting sound of the river flowing by.

AWESOME PROPERTY with PATHETIC HOSPITALITY

Sandeepa Bon 27/06/2017 18:46

We stayed there for 2 nights & 3 days, 25th to 27th June'17. Our room number was 322. It was a presidential suit.
The positive things about the resort, as I observed were:
1) The location and
2) the suit we stayed in.
Both were awesome.
3) buffet menu was satisfactory (not as per a star hotel like this, though)
Now, some experiences, that are not at all pleasant.
1) Room service staffs are completely incompetent. They took a complete half day and exactly 5 requests/reminders to provide an extra bed in the suit, though we paid for triple occupancy and spoke several times about the same with the authority.
2) Management staffs are very arrogant. Their attitude and body language was utterly ridiculous.
3) We handed over the key to the reception in the morning, while going out for sightseeing and asked to clean the room. But no one cares to do that. We need to call them to clean the room.
4) While cleaning the room, they took away the used towel, as they should, but they didn't replace it with fresh towels. We were so disgusted with their services that we spend rest of our stay without their towel.
5) There was no shower gel in the shower gel container in the bathroom.
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY
6) They tried to charge for 6 pizzas, consumed by god knows whom, on us (unsigned), but failed, as, thank God, my husband went through all the bills before paying.
7) We had to wait for entire an hour reading the local news papers and watching the rain outside, before they settle the final bill excluding that pizza charges.
PATHETIC HOSPITALITY WITH ZERO PROFESSIONAL ATTITUDE!
