The Vitalhotel lacks a lot in comparison to similar other Thermal Resorts in Austria, Switzerland and Germany, we have visited.
It has no Aircondition 😓
The room (classik) is small , a larger suitcase fits no where.
The designer forgot that today a couple carries a handphone each and maybe a tablet or laptop and all need to be charge, but there are not enough wall plugs.
Towels for the thermal baths are OK but Those in the room are far behind.
The restaurant is good, not more but no less also.
Parking is very convenient. The Bar was also disapointing , my frozen Maegarita was more ice than drink.
I would not come here again for few reasons, but lets start with the good things.
The hotel is extremely clean, i have rarely seen this and you can notice it in all areas, the cleaning people do their job really excellent.
I have read in some reviews that the reception staff is unfriendly and not welcoming guests. We experienced really nice welcome, were offered the prosecco and checked in very quickly. Need to add that we came around 8 pm and that July is obviously not a top season for the hotel, therefore there was no stress. Can't say what would of have been few months earlier when the therme was overbooked. The same review goes for restaurant staff which was extremely nice ( Vanessa ) and always there, be it for breakfast or dinner. We could have any table and there were not many people. Really loved the serenity on the terrace during breakfast and dinner.
Hotel premises are very well looked after, lots of greens, peace and really relaxing. Our room had beautiful view in the garden.
Very positive are the jogging routes around the therme, perfectly marked and for all tastes. Be careful though, if you are not in the best shape and outside is more than 20c the red route is not a joke. Its up & down all the time. Blue one is too, but not as hard. The other great thing were the bikes that we got and drove around.
We also liked the Sauna Lagoon, bar is a great thing to have outside. Didn't manage to go to all saunas, but those i was in were great. Unfortunately we never made it to Hamam & Therme and I can't say a word about those. Lagoon has one nice colder pool and 2 outdoor jacuzzis. Loved the green plants around whole pool. Great idea.
Now to why i wouldn't come here again. First of all its too expensive for what you get. Fortunately we booked over some deal which made the stay cheaper, therefore in the end it was acceptable. But if i had to pay the full price, i would not be happy at all knowing what level of luxury can one get in some other Austrian Therme for the same / similar price. ( i have seen quite few in the last 3 years ).
To food quality: Breakfast was ok, had
acceptable range of sweet and salty ( didn't see low fat ham though ), breads, pastry even prosecco, however i have seen better ones. Food presentation is ok, nothing spectacular though. Very positive is the possibility to eat until 12 am.
Dinner was less ok. The highlights are salad & cheese bar. We weren't really happy with main course. I mean it was ok, cooked properly but no love there. No special kicks. Dessert the same. One day we got it served, the other day they had quite few ( all similar though- some sort of Kaiserschmarn). What about chocolate ?
So basically, food all ok, no special bad points, nothing to remember though.
I have read the reviews about hotel itself, long corridors, looks like Kuranstalt.. Well, I can't really verify that. Yes, its not a luxury hotel and yes its not built in 2000 there are few longer corridors, but far less than some other places i have been.
That all said, we both booked a massage and it was wonderful ( Ms. Petra has magic hands ). I also had my hair done in Biostetique.. Great service and good hairdresser ( didn't get her name, young blonde girl). She really made sure i got what i wanted.
So, to sum up: there are many good things here, price and food unfortunately not being one if them. And beacuse of that and the fact that is far from Vienna ( which has some better options much closer- not price wise, but what you get for it ) I don't think we will come again.
Keep in mind that i wrote my review based on experience in lower season.
We spent four days at this hotel and enjoyed every moment of it. The hotel has an enormous outside thermal pool, and stunning hammam and sauna areas. I recommend booking the half-board, as the restaurant is surprisingly good.
We took what was planned to be a romantic weekend trip to this hotel and were beyond disappointed. It all started with the online reservation and the rude response we received to our email telling us that the hotel was fully booked. A day later I again checked online avoiding to contact the reservation department again and was able to book a room. Upon arrival at the hotel we were met by a queue at the reception desk and had to wait quite some time to check in. When we wanted to get a little snack before going to the room, the waiter at the hotel bar seemed to be having his first day of work. He was not able to tell us anything when we asked about sandwiches or other snacks and when we found it in the menu, he said he had to check if things were available and disappeared for 10 minutes. Moreover, all through our conversation he was wiping his nose (he seemed to have a cold) and coughed right into my coke while pouring it into the glass. After we had gone to the room, which was quite average for the price we were paying, we hit the spa (which you can only reach after a long walk through a tunnel) and which we found to be totally overcrowded, noisy and far from relaxing. We could not even find a single empty chair to put down our towels! It was a rather frustrating experience. For dinner our package included a romantic candle-light dinner and what we got instead was an overcrowded hall-like dinner room with a buffet that was packed with people. The waiter who checked our reservation at the entrance was very rude to us, snapped back at us for asking for a quiet table and let us wait for our table for 10 minutes while wandering off to attend to some other business. The dinner was mediocre and with a table of screaming kids next to us, it was far from romantic. We could have used the spa all day the next day, but decided to leave early. All this for a mere 430 Euro - a disappointing weekend, to say the least. Never again!
The location is really not fancy, quite far away from any supermarkets or facilities.
Finish your breakfast early as you need to check out until 11 am, although the breakfast runs until 12 am! We were in a real hurry to get all of our things out of the room while still finishing breakfast... Definitely not relaxing!
A real minus is the huge distance to the spa, 5 minutes walking time minimum!
You get free bathrobes and a bag with towels for the spa which is quite nice.
There are LEDs on the ceiling which remind you of stars at night and the indoor pool is connected to the outdoor pool which is also lighted by RGB LEDs at night. Generally speaking, the spa looks much nicer at night.
I definitely enjoyed the saltwater pool, although it is a bit further away from the main pool area. There is another zone with cascading pools at the other end of the spa plus a chillier outdoor pool for sports purposes.
The sauna area is quite satisfying, featuring different kinds of saunas and two jacuzzis / whirlpools which make up for the disappointing performance of the main pool area facilities. A rather extraordinary feature of the sauna area is the infrared cabin and soft sauna, which I personally enjoyed a lot.
The rooms are clean and tidy and the bed was very comfortable. I found the live music in the evening quite entertaining as it makes it possible to chill out in the evening with a glass of wine.
All in all, it's a good spa and worth the money we paid (discounted rate) but I wouldn't pay the regular price. Instead, I would choose the St. Martin's Therme plus lodge as they offer much more for your money.
