Very average with small rooms
GaiMikeon 16/04/2015 19:05From all of the hotels I stayed in Japan during the last month, that hotel left me with the filling of the eighties. The room was small. we could not find a space to open our suitcases. The room is outdated.
There was WiFi in the room, but could not find the safe or cattle.
A Spacious Hotel
CLau888on 26/11/2014 04:02Seems I am the only one writing for this hotel in English.
I surf on the websites and found that most of the hotels near Tokushima train station are relatively small, though more convenient. Since I would need a car to drive to Naruto to see the whirlpool, so I decided to pick Grandvrio which is a bit far from train station. Parking is everywhere inside the city so finding a parking space is not a problem.
It takes about 15-20 minutes to walk from Grandvrio to the Tokushima station and surrounding attractions, a car is more convenient, or there are quite many taxi waiting outside the hotel. The hotel situated along the river bank, while my room is facing it, so it is a fantastic view in good weather.
I booked the room directly with the hotel, check in was smooth. Staff speak sufficient English to communicate briefly. The hotel is relatively big in Tokushima, with a big convention hall, and a multi storey car park at the back and is free for staying guests. There is a couple having their wedding reception at the hotel while I stayed there. The hotel room is considered spacious by Japanese standard. Amenities are adequate, wifi, safe, electric kettle are all equipped.
Breakfast is provided at the Myrica restaurant on the ground floor and is a buffet style, providing mainly Japanese food and some western food. In the second day I stayed, Myrica is closed and we have to go across the bridge and go over to the annex building which is by the promenade, closer to the river, and the name is Bizan restaurant. Breakfast is only provided from 7:00am to 9:00am, and most guests cleared out by around 9:20am.
It is a good hotel but just that there is nothing very special to make you remember it.
