Beautiful Hotel!
joburglauraon 27/06/2017 18:53This hotel has a beautiful location. Some rooms were bigger than others - ours kind of small, but it was sufficient. It is quite a distance outside of the town - but worth it for the view. It used to be a hunting lodge. Dining room had stunning views. Breakfast buffet very nice - dinner yummy. Lovely grounds - wish I had more time to wander.
The most pragtfuld place at the Rhein
rikke561on 14/09/2016 19:40My parentes stayed there from the 11th of september til the 13th. They found it very Nice. Excellent staff, good food, Nice rooms and in the most beautoful suroundings. The staff treated Them very very Well eventhough They only speak very little german. Their room was newly renovated and the furnitures are very charming for the caste

Off the beaten track
lex_loci_davidon 14/08/2016 17:12This is a very old world hotel full of antiques and the like. It epitimises old world charm and the forest surrounds are delightful.
I found:
- my room to be really very very tiny - even by European standards
- flys to be everywhere
- the hotel difficult to find. It is not so much that it is difficult to find but my GPS would not recognise its location. When i did find it; the hotel is easy to get to from Rudesheim by car but not by any other form of transport.
- breakfast to be good
- the pool to be very nice - as was the sauna.
- my actual room let in a lot of noise from the corridor but no noise from outside the building.
- the internet was poor. it was weak and quite slow.
- the staff to be reasonable friendly (although it wouldn't kill them to smile)
Pleasant surprise
Tracey Hon 18/05/2016 14:59I stayed one night at this hotel, having booked last-minute during a busy period. It was a lovely setting in the middle of a peaceful forest, with access up to the hotel, which is on a hill, by car. You can take the cable car up from the centre of Rudesheim for those wishing to experience the pretty views of the Rhine and the vineyards by air! You can take a chair lift down to a local village and then a boat along the river and a cable car back, with a walk through the forest back to the hotel. I didn't get a chance to do the pool, but I found the staff very nice and friendly, the rooms clean and comfortable and a reasonable size (bathrobes to wear during your stay too), the dinner in the hotel was good and the service friendly. Breakfast buffet was fine.
Very special place in a beautiful setting
Wendy732on 12/11/2015 08:51The hotel is in the woods and there are great hiking opportunities, including a walk through the vineyards with spectacular views of the Rhine. The colours in autumn are unbelievable. The staff is very professional. The rooms are a bit old fashioned, but that fits in with the whole atmosphere.
