Douglas Don 27/04/2013 04:40Tourist hotel in Gomel is adequate an i stayed three nights. Check-in was simple when Russian is spoken but I suspect English speaking tourists are uncommon and I had some difficulty checking in. Staff accomplish duty with little emotion. My room was bland and the bed was two beds pushed together with a ridge at the center where the beds were in contact. Bedding was okay but could be a problem in colder months. The restaurant was expensive, $25 each, and service was slow and impersonal. A casino was present but attendants were unfriendly and intimidating and I left before using it. There is no recreation in the area unless your okay playing pool alone, watching TV in Russian, or have personal activities. Wifi did not work and no close options where at hand. Breakfast was decent. I cannot compare to other options in Gomel but this facility was safe, reasonably priced, and adequate.

Observer-Yon 15/09/2012 20:52I have been staying here for several weeks on business and have been well looked after. The hotel rooms are of adequate size; the shower works well and water is always hot enough. Heated towel rail allows drying of clothes. The staff are friendly and helpful (remember - if you smile, they will too! ). There is a buffet breakfast which is good enough (buy tokens from reception.) Money exchange and a newspaper kiosk are in reception. There is a refurbishment programme underway with new beds etc being fitted. There are bedrooms of varying standards of quality according to how much you want to pay. Hotel restaurant has a good general menu. Around the side of the building in the same complex is a Chinese restaurant with an excellent menu. Buses and trolleybuses are easy to get (and very cheap) from outside the hotel for a 10 minute ride to the city centre.

Hotel and the rooms are old... like every "tourist hotel" in ex CCCP cities... but everything inside was working and operational... sheets was clean... hotel is at the center of the city but still quite... sutff does not like smiling :) but anything else is fine.. just as expected.. no more, no less...

Alex_Elfion 16/07/2006 05:30I stayed here three times. Be prepared for a rather lengthy registration procedure. if you find a queue this can last a very long time. Prices as in otehr hotels in Belarus are about twice more expensive for foreigners than for locals. I paid around 75 US $ each time I stayed. Rooms are average but you probably wont get anything better in Gomel. Breakfast was always acceptable and teh service was nice. The worse thing about this hotel is the bar and in particular the service there. If you dont speak Russian they barely talked to us and they could be quite offensive. Its state owned tand they know there is no much alternative in the region. So if you must be in Gomel this is probably the most decent option but far from comfortable
