Tacky, horrible rooms, bad staff. The neighbourhood is gangster as, the convenience shop next door has bullet proof glass to separate customers from the tellers did the Jack in the box across the street. We didn't feel safe here, it feels like something out of a movie. The restaurant buffet was horrid and felt like we were in a throwback 80s diner. Not in a good way either.
The only good thing is that it was the shortest trip to LAX for our layover. I tell tales of how bad this place and area was.

Had a layover and this place was close to lax and had available rooms. Seems to be an international travel lodge. Will definitely be making this one of my spots when I come back to LA. They have all kinds of social things going on. Shuttle to LAX and Manhattan Beach. Free hot buffet with beverage purchase and room service.
Short LAX trip

Cheap accomodation, dodgy area, lots of freebies, good for solo/couple for short transit. Far from main areas. Nothing much around. Long wait for the free shuttle. But you get what you pay, don't expect much.
Grotty Hotel, rude staff!

Staff at the reception were rude & we felt like it was a hassel to book us in! The room key was a constant problem, could not get in the room & when we went to reception they could hardly be bothered to fix it! Room & bath room were smelly & 'grotty', felt like getting the cleaning trolly & having a go myself!! Lucky we did not spend much time there.
We had two rooms attached & sharing with my husbands brother. He had to go through our room to get to bathroom & the door did not shut, had to jam toilet paper in the door to get a little privacy!
Definitely not stay again or recommend
Good for staying close to LAX

I chose this hotel because I had an early morning departure. They offer free shuttle each way to airport which is 10 minutes drive .
I was picked up by the shuttle which drives each way continuously so not a long wait. It was very nice inside the bus( more like a limo ).
They don't allow check- in until 3 pm so I told them I would wait the 1.5 hours. Around 2.30 the staff proceeded to check in 3 other parties that arrived well after me, first.
The rooms are in two sets of double story buildings and I believe they have a back-packer hostel as well.
My room was great- two rooms with double bed in each.
The tv only worked on one channel so I called reception and they said they'd send a maintenance guy. 3 hours later I went to reception and told them again. One of the girls looked embarrassed because she obviously remembered that she had done nothing.
Next day my key(card) wouldn't work so they reset it, and the following day same happened. As it was a walk to the second floor at the back, I said I would like to make a complaint as this happened each day.
The staff-member Jasmine replied "do I look like someone that you can make a complaint to?"
She then told me the manager is not there for 2 days,after when I would be gone .
I informed her that I report on TripAdvisor but she said that she didn't care about that.
The hotel has many good points such as
Free transfer
Free champagne each afternoon
24 hour heated pool
Reasonably priced restaurant meals and drinks
Spacious rooms
"Hipster" atmosphere.
But it is all spoiled by the uncaring staff. They make you feel like everything is an inconvenience to them.
I only hope the manager reads this and I can give more comments.
