Missed flight and stayed here one night

We missed out flight on the way to Statia and needed a cheap hotel for one night. The information desk at the airport suggested the Travel Inn. It was cheap and rooms were Spartan. It was clean and generally quiet, until the bar across the street started jamming. The music from the bar was so loud from 11:00-4:00 that I couldn't sleep.

Cancelled flight to Saba. This hotel was recommended by several Win Air employees. It was broken down and in disrepair, although given that, relatively clean. Only benefit is proximity to decent restaurants in Simpson Bay. Would not recommend this hotel unless in a pinch for a single night stay.

Indeed accommodation on the island is expensive and like many people we decided to stay here as it was affordable BUT this is the worse hotel I have ever seen and I travel the world for a living! the room is dirty beyond belief, the beds creek at any little movement, the bathroom smells, actually wreaks, the shower doesn't even function correctly and hot water is non existent!! the hotel staff haven't showered and have no understanding of what customer service is. If you want a great holiday - Avoid this hotel or like us it will ruin your entire holiday!

Don't stay here, unless you want to ruin your vacation!

This is the worst place I have ever been to. Imagine a really bad motel and divide the standard in half. This is what you get in Travel Inn Hotel.
The room was shabby and dirty. Our mattress looked like generations of people (and their grandparents) had slept on it, the room was in bad condition (phone from the 60s, cigarette stains everywhere, color coming off the wall, bad chlorine smell, ...).

Worst of all was the bathroom, we found a used fork in a gap, the toilet was not working properly and the shower was only working with cold water because the other part of the tub was defective).
It was really bad, never again.

So why did I still give two stars:
1) the location is convenient so Simpson Bay Beach and some good restaurants as well as the airport and
2) some of the staff members were friendly and helpful (while others gave us the impression to bother them with our check-in).

I choosed the Travel Inn hotel because the location and price since most the brand name hotels are aver $400 dollars per night. The price for the room it was $119 US dollars I think like average price.
No breakfast included, no tea, no cafe maker machine, no perks at all.
Love the ocean view and is ok for short stay and not amenities.
Fairly clean, to me comfy bed, few tv channels.
Taking a shower is an experience lol since the water pressure is too low and the water droops very little.
Vending machines for water and sodas and very close to the airport

Easy location moving everywhere in mini buses 🚎 for $2 dollars taxis very expensive for the short distances
