Good overnight stay for airport

Excellent location to airport. Shuttle service from airport parking picked us up next morn so good service. Travelodge does exactly what it says on the tin. Reasonably clean. Quite a bit of plane noise but is very close to airport. A lot of traveller noise too as people coming and going for flights. Lovely staff on reception who recommended nice place to eat. Woild recommend the Newbridge inn close by.

Short stay and bad experience

We stayed in this hotel 2 nights during the Edi festival ... and really did not experience a good stay.
1. Arrival : rooms available in the afternoom, which is right ... we let our logage in the entrance behind the desk .. and they were still exactly there when we came back late in the day. In the entrance, it was not so secure.
2. Fist night. Kids slept in bed ... without mattresses ! Directly the frame. The second morning when we asked for mattresses ... it was not possible, sold out ! Surprising in an hotel.
3. First breakfast. The lady at the desk, Tracy refused the acess to the breakfast area to my 14 y old boy ... because needed to be paid in advance.
Not pleasant at all for a first hospitality experience in Scotland. Need serious improvement.

Rip off!

Number One its NOT an airport hotel! No way!
Number Two for the money £100 makes it border line fraud
Number Three it was a bit damp smelling for a relatively new hotel this seemed most odd?
I would pay anymore than £65 For this dump!

Fine for a night

This is a modern purpose built Travelodge with a bar and restaurant, and we had a reasonably comfortable night here after getting in late to the airport.

It's worth noting that it's a decent drive from the airport itself - £10 in a cab if you use the service at reception.

The breakfast was better than any Travelodge breakfast I've had before (not a high bar to be honest), but whilst the room was clean and modern the bed was significantly inferior to other hotel chains in a similar price bracket.

For the price we paid it wasn't especially good value either.

Would highly recommend this hotel, modern, spacious comfortable rooms, fabulous breakfast selection and delicious evening meal menu. Very friendly & helpful staff who offered great tips of what to do & see in Edinburgh.
