What People are saying

Great location

Zoe Bon 25/06/2017 22:56

Basic room, no restaurant for breakfast or dinner. You know what you are getting when you stay in a travelogde, basic by clean and tidy however the location was brilliant. Would recommend just on the location!

Perfect location!

My boyfriend and i stayed here when we traveled to Edinburgh for an impromptu weekend away, the location was perfect, approx a 10 minute walk from the train station and a 2 minute walk from the mile. The hotel was clean with all the basics you require for your stay.

Poor

cairas2017on 24/06/2017 23:54

The room was very cramped, not what you'd expect given the prices. The bathroom wasn't clean, there was marks on the tiles, didn't look like it had a good clean in a while. The general cleanness of the the room was very poor. The only good thing about the hotel is its location!

Does what is says on the tin

A 7 hour flight delay meant that we didn't arrive until 3am, we were met by a very friendly, efficient (and awake) receptionist.
Straight to bed, the family room was comfy for myself and daughter. She complained of traffic noises- but she is the country bumpkin who is woken by the slightest tweet of a bird 5 miles away. If you don't want traffic noise, then don't choose a city centre hotel I said. She closed the Windows-I melted and re-opened them whilst she slept. Secondary glazing is a good compromise anyway. Beds were very comfy- daughter was quite happy on the extra "family" bed. I found the pillows a bit hard, but I am a feather pillow type, and for 2 nights, I could cope. Was joyous being able to sleep diagonally across the bed, but I guess this only really works if, like me, you leave husband at home!
Tea and coffee is available in the room, but we did wander to the bar for hot chocolate on our 2nd night. Only 1 chair in the room, which is a pain if you want to sit and drink that hot drink, read or watch the tv.
Breakfast was edible, which is always an advantage, didn't have cereals, the cooked items were the basics, only variation was vegetarian sausages as well those good enough for your average carnivore.
The staff were lovely, all those we saw were very helpful and welcoming. The room is a place to lay your head, the staff are the reason that you would return!

Very Good Value, and SO close to the Royal Mile

Very pleased with the hotel, location, reception staff. Only wish was that room had air-con, and that 2 of the 4 pillows could have been less puffy as too high for me to sleep on. Didn't eat there nor use the wifi.
