Touring in the area we booked a twin room at the hotel. It is very handily situated close to the M5 about 10 minutes drive from the city centre. There are ample car parking facilities. Check in was friendly fast and efficient. The room was what you would expect from Travelodge, clean, functional and of ample size. It is a no frills hotel decently priced and I would have no hesitation in recommending.
Clean and comfy

Conveniently situated off the M5. Lovely welcome for my 5 year old son and I. Room was large and clean. It was a warm day and a fan was provided which was a nice touch. Breakfast was lovely! On leaving I had left my son's iPad in the room. The cleaner ran after me with it!! Thank you!!

Stayed before an interview in Exeter. Charged £115 incl dog. Shabby hotel, one towel in room so had to ask for more as husband with me too, nets hanging off, frayed carpet, dirty carpet in hallways, boiling hot, noisy, no sleep, no shower gels, or handsoaps. For £115 I do expect more.
Will never stay in a travelodge again, expected more for £115 a night, just awful.
The hotel that Travelodge forgot

Skip full of rubbish outside front entrance which made the hotel grounds look like a rough estate.
I had to clean the bath before I could put my son in it. The bathroom fittings were rusting, and the carpets?!? They needed replacing years ago! I wanted to hover!
Needs some money spending on it.
Does what you would expect

You can’t fault it – a Travelodge doesn’t set out to provide upmarket accommodation, but it does provide, clean, fresh, reasonably sized rooms, with good quality towels, bed linen and bathrooms at a stunning price. For a functional rest, this ticks all the boxes.
