What People are saying

Great Staff

cham3on 14/11/2017 22:00

People make the experience and a personal touch goes a long way to a great stay. The staff at this location are helpful, considerate and make you feel welcome. I couldn't have asked for better service, including the General Manager Blair.

Poor

Stayed here because the venue paid for it. Needs a lot. Front desk staff is the only thing it's got that's really good. They were really nice. The bed was comfortable if you don't mind being extremely hot. The A/C was nonexistent. The furniture was older than me. There were 2 electric outlets in the whole room. One behind the tv and the other behind the night stand. Their hair dryer has been on the wall so long that the holder has turned yellow. The walls were so thin, I could hear the complete phone conversation of the person next door and the herd of elephants coming down the hall every 10 minutes. If you want sleep, go somewhere else. Oh, also saw nowhere to eat. Won't be back.

Very nice budget overnight stay

Stayed there on overnight trip to the Sandbanks this September. Perfect location close to the river and playground. Clean and spacious rooms, good bedding, free parking. Breakfast was good although the dining room was overcrowded (fall on one of those popular weekends)

Heater off until November?

tripadvicefortravon 17/10/2017 15:45

The hotel had the heating system turned off. The entire hotel, including the room itself was freezing cold. After inquiring with the front desk, we were advised that they do not turn on the heating system until October 31st. A group of us were there for a retreat. We were at least 200 people. Were they trying to save money, after each of us spending over $100/night? My guess would be yes. They handed out space heaters, which they ran out of. In addition, there were flies and spiders in our room and friends' rooms.

Would be my last choice for future accommodations in Belleville, ON

This is an older hotel...I knew that. The bed was comfy, view of the bay was lovely, and the room was large. BUT, the bathroom door was grimy (probably as a result of people grabbing the door to open/close it, there was coloured material on the back of it (looked like dried on toothpaste). The worst part was that our room was COLD. On calling the front desk, I was advised that they could supply me with blankets to huddle under because there were no more heaters to distribute. The heat would not be available until Oct.16 . At check-out, there was a fee for safe warranty; this was removed when I questioned about it. The check out person told me that it could be if people noticed it but otherwise it was added on and not removed; I had not been advised of it when booking or checking in so I see this fee as a way for the hotel to collect more money. The breakfast was mediocre; I have had much better offerings at hotels where a continental breakfast is offerred. My husband said the sausage rounds were like leather. Although there was juice available, there was no fresh fruit. We were in town due to a family emergency, and had limited choices when I booked. This is rated as a 3 Star facility, and I know it is old (It was built when I was in high school over 40 years ago), but finding additional levies on the bill, and the attitude of the front desk personnelle when I reported the lack of heating made it less than a desirable place to stay. I will pay more to (hopefully) get a more acceptable room and customer service should I need to stay again in Belleville.
