What People are saying

Comfortable and clean

Group of us stayed here for a weekend away. Hotel was in a great location and easy access to town and shops. Staff were friendly and rooms were nice and clean and made up each day. Shower could of been a little more powerful but other than that great value for money

Cheapish and cheerful

Great location just outside the city centre, away from the noise and just off the quayside. Room could of been cleaner but it was not dirty, although it was like a sauna and needed air-con. Even with a fan and the window open it was too hot and the outside temperature was only about 18 - 20 degrees during the day. A bit noisy with traffic noise with the window open at night if you are located at the front of the hotel. Breakfast was adequate, but bar prices a bit expensive and limited choice. Parking on site £6 per 24 hours, if you get a spot in a very tight underground car park. Some of the spaces are taken up with bad parking by residents work vans and the hotel fencing off about 3 or 4 spaces. This needs looking at please Travelodge. Kids beds very hard, main beds just hard. Toilets in reception area, I hope are being updated, because currently they look like they are being knocked down !!! Overall, fairly happy with what I got for the price I paid.

Great!

Good hotel in a central location

I was staying here over night as part of a trip i was doing on my motorcycle. The first thing I found help was that the parking facility was easy to find the entrance to and very fairly priced at only £6 for 24hr for being in the centre of a city. The add bonus was that you could get directly into the hotel from the car park.

The reception area was very well kept and spacious with the staff on at the time being helpful and always had a smile. The bar and restaurant area was directly connected to the reception area with a mix of simple yet nice table and a small area with sofas and coffee tables.

The check-in process was very simple and fast. The woman who was on reception at the time offered to check to see if my room was ready even though i was 30mins early. This was a tremendous help as being on a bike meant i had a lot to carry about and sit with in the lounge area.

The room i had was on the first floor of the extension. The room itself was a good size with plenty of space to put all my gear so it was out of the way. The bed was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom had a bath/shower combo. I had booked a double room but it had been set up as a twin which is not a bad thing. The only downside was that the veiw out of my window was directly into a neighboring office building.

I had booked a 1 course meal with my stay. The price of £10.25 for a meal and a soft drink was quite cheap. The meal itself was very simple but at the same time filling. The choice of soft drinks with the meal though was rather limited. Wasn't even allowed to have an irn-bru without having to pay more.

The next morning i also had the full breakfast which was a buffet style breakfast which had a good selection of food that catered for everyone with both vegi and vegan options offered.

The checkout process was simple and fast allowing me to get going on the next leg of my journey to Keighley.

Birthday weekend

Wanted to get away for a birthday so decided to go with Newcastle!
Travelodge was great value for money. Could see the numerous bridges from the window which was beautiful! Friendly staff, clean rooms.
Amazing Indian buffet below the travelodge which is a must visit - fantastic food!
Short walk up a steep hill to get to main town shopping centre.
Would return :)
