What People are saying

Outside noise spoilt stay

AmazinHazeon 20/08/2017 19:13

We requested top floor room as aware others had commented on noise from outside. We were on 6th floor but noise from outside still kept us awake. Very busy road and loud people seemed to still be walking around & shouting at 3am in the morning - perhaps to be expected at weekend but this was a Wednesday night. Didn't get much sleep but apart from location there is little the Travelodge can do about this external problem. Otherwise room and stay as expected.

Southampton Travelodge

Stayed at the Travelodge in August 2017. The hotel room we stayed in was not even ready on check in at 7pm and after a 3.5 hour journey this wasn't a great start. The room was filthy, it was full of hair and other crap on the floor, not very good when you have two young children aged 21 months and 12 months. There was a lot of noise from surrounding areas and with no air con you had to have the room windows open so you heard everything .

Underwhelming and disinterested

The staff were distance and uninterested, the room was average at best. Cheap plastic cups that you could barely pick up without crushing them. Just so very disappointed all round. At night the car park was full with staff cars so I couldn't park.

Good base but traffic noise

Stayed here for one night we were on the 4th floor. Facing lodge road nice views and public transportation was right on the doorstep. However as the room can get stuffy we opened the windows but then you have to put up with Traffic noise. Staff were welcoming.

Hit and Miss

When work told me I was staying in a Travelodge I was not happy due to previous experiences but this one was surprisingly nice. First of all the reception staff are all lovely and friendly. I was in room 112 (I believe it was a disabled room) but I'm not fussed because that usually means the room is bigger. The room was massive by the way. Nice size TV, dressing table, place to hang clothes, 2 big towels and a small hand towels, a fan and a radiator. Nice touch was the full length mirror on the back of door. The bed was very comfy I just didnt like the fact that there was only a sheet on the bed and if you wanted a duvet you had to get it out of a bag in the top of the cupboard. There was also one of those automatic spray air freshners on top of the wardrobe that i had to move into the bathroom because everytime it went off it scared the life out of me I think just a subtle plug in could of been a better option. I've never had to pay for parking for a hotel before it was £4 for 24 hours but there just wasnt enough parking spaces. One night I paid, went out to dinner then when I come back all the spaces were taken so I just had to leave it in the middle of the carpark. The breakfast box was odd but okay if you were like me and you were on your way to work and it was just something you could sit and eat at your desk. Overall I had a nice stay apart from the last night which was when next door kept me up from half 3 till 5 arguing with her partner, fighting and having the police called.
