What People are saying

Nice experience

Dylan_0717on 03/04/2017 01:49

This was fantastic! Me and my friends went to the pool bar 5 o' clock SW the foods are good, the staff were nice. Then we also tried the lounge License to chill, there were hotdogs, sandwiches and others. It was quite a nice chilling place. And indeed, the staffs/servers were also great and attentive. They would always give you a pleasant smile, even the Chef would also give a great satisfaction for the guests. You should keep those always. Will definitely recommend. Cheers!

Foods and Wifi

Hit up this fantastic place! It's fun it's energetic. The drinks are great and the food is awesome. Had the Cheese burger and fries. It's not that frozen cookie burger you get at most places! The entertainment is none stop and the pool is nice and warm. The Wifi is fast! Really fast with 7 Cruise ships in at once dumping in upwards of 20000 people you would this it would come to a stop. Not! This is the place just go. After all is 5 o'clock there all the time

Really great value - will be even better when finished

We were a little worried free reading some reviews saying lots of construction but the price was reasonable and in the area we wanted to stay so we took a chance.
The good - good location, the room was decorated very nice, big flat screen tv (although we were too tired to watch every night), the staff were very friendly, lobby and bar was beautiful. Big sun beds by the adult pool, swim up bar at the family pool. Best part was the beach access. They have rocks formed to make a lagoon, which was great for families and floats but you could snorkel out an opening in the rock formation and here we saw some of the best snorkeling on the island - and we went to multiple beaches searching. If we went left, we saw large fish and sea turtles and if we went out to the 200 yard buoy, we saw EVERYTHING. Massive amounts of tropical fish, squid, swam through a wall of blue tang. Saw lion fish, puffer fish, zebra, neons. We only discovered this on our second to last day after we had chased all over the island. Thanks to the guy in the hot tub who told us to go out to the reef.
The bad - the big pool was closed the entire time and no one on staff seemed to know why it when it would open. They drained it two days before we left, but never got to use it. The hot tub was WAY too hot. People had to step in and step out, trying to get used to it. The elevator was broken and we were on the fourth floor. Got old really quick. If you don't have a working elevator, fourth floor might not be a good choice. But the room was quiet- except for roosters at the crack of dawn, but that's island life. The curtains are not light blocking so we were up pretty early every day.
Overall, very pleased-food and drink prices were comparable to the rest of the island - which is to say expensive. A burger and iced tea was around $25 US dollars but that's with their mandatory 15% gratuity added to all bills.
I'd definitely go back but would like to look into the timeshare condos. The beach access made us forget a lot of downsides and the staff were all so pleasant - that took the sting off the unpleasant things.

Knew it was not done yet

Recently stayed several nights and thought it was great. Pools side view beautiful. Staff needs a shout out, so great; from the desk and bell staff to the bar and the house keepers. Everyone went out of their way to see if they could get us anything or if we needed anything. The menu at the two bars are pretty much the same but the food was good. The pool, deck and beach are clean and there was just a few other guests so lots of room. Especially loved the beach and the swimming area, one walk down the beach to other resorts so crowded with many people affirms this is a great choice.
We look forward to visiting again when the resort is completed. The resort has condos on either side of the hotel buildings between them and the beach. The pools are one next to the other on the way to the beach with the second bar in between them and then the condo yard between the second pool and the beach but the walk way takes you right there and the second bar services the beach.

Review based on our lunch visit - will update

I am a local, and used to frequent Billy Bones (when I was younger!) on Sunday afternoons. I actually took friends to Billy Bones that were visiting last year and was extremely embarrassed about the state of the resort, etc, at that time. It was in complete shambles and had questionable characters living there.
The previous hotel (Treasure Island) went from mediocre, at their very best, to absolutely inhospitable and I was skeptical that the new owners could do anything to improve it. When I heard it was going to be a Margaritaville Resort, I assumed that the building was going to be leveled, mainly because of how terrible it was kept up by the prior owner(s).
All I have to say now is "WOW!"
I took friends there last weekend for lunch at the "5 o'clock somewhere" bar (previously known as Billy Bones) and I can't honestly offer up one critique about the food or service. True, there is still construction going on, as the hotel has not yet had their grand opening, but everything was delightful. A MAJOR improvement from what it was. On all counts possible.
To whoever the new owners are: thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
