What People are saying

Super, relaxing holiday

Katharine Aon 26/08/2017 12:35

Our family of 4 spent 10 nights self catering at this hotel and it was the most relaxing family holiday we have ever had. The day manager, Luis, is super friendly and helpful however the night manager, name unknown, is not as friendly or helpful.
I cannot praise the bar and restaurant staff enough - they were all very friendly and helpful. We ate lunch and dinner in the hotel restuarant a few times during our stay - we were able to order Menorquin food, it was super tasty and very reasonable in price. They have the Menorquin speciality of Padron Peppers on the menu which are delicious with a beer!
There are 2 supermarkets close by - the one down the hill is notably more expensive than the one just up the hill. There are a few restaurants nearby which are very decent - the best of which is Cafe Del Nord and the worts of which is a tapas bar called Sa Dolca! The beach is a short walk from the hotel and it is absolutely beautiful - if you walk to the far end, you can see wild turtles swimming and basking where there is a little view point. A truly amazing sight.
Apartments are basic and a little dated but they are clean, spacious and well looked after.
WE had such a brilliant time - we will definitely be returning to the Tirant Playa next year.

Nice family holiday

I'd start with the apartment: it's fairly close to the reception, we had a 1 bedroom apartment which was in clean and good condition on arrival. I think the place was comfortable and spacious for the three of us. There's a balcony with a spectacular view. The bedroom had a ceiling fan and there's no air-condition in any part of the apartment. I have to say that there's cleaning and fresh towels only twice a week.

Service and staff were really friendly and helpful. Haven't had any bad experience whilst we were there. There's no entertainment, if you would like to relax and a quiet place, it's for you.

Location is good. If you hire a car from the airport, the place is about 30 mins away (30 km / 18.5 miles). There are several restaurants, couple of shops close by (walking distance, max 5 mins away).

Food: I have to mention few words about food. We went all-inclusive and were a bit disappointed by the dinner. Breakfast and lunch weren't bad, but have to add that if you snooze, you loose. I mean if you get too late down to the restaurant then you might miss some of the nice food. On the other hand dinners weren't appetizing at all. We had to eat out most of the evenings. The food was excellent in the surrounding restaurants though.

We went to explore the Island by the hired car and got to some beautiful places, I personally think it's worth to hire a car to be able to see more of Menorca.

To sum it up if you know what you gonna get, it's worth going there.

Great place for a family holiday.

Had a lovely week at this hotel. Food was very nice and plenty of it as well. Close to lovely beach and different restaurants if you want to eat out for a change. Reception staff very friendly and helpful as well. Will definitely go back.

Lovely family holiday

Me and family stayed here in august 2017. To tell you the truth I was very very sceptical about visiting! After some of the reviews I read on here, mostly people I think just having a grumble about nothing! We were pleasantly surprised. This was in no means the greatest place we have ever stayed but definitely not the worse! (Tunisia) The complex was small and quiet which is exactly what we wanted, a relaxing time and that is what we got. The pool was fairly big, lots of the children had inflatables and there was always enough room for the adults to swim. The pool was clean and cleaned every morning.
Now people have mentioned on here about the staff being rude, I won't disagree however, if I was working a job that should take around 8-10 people and there was 2 on at a time I would feel exactly the same. Towards the end of the week though they seemed to get better. The apartment was cleaned but not cleaned very often which wasn't great. But again I think they have to prioritise they're weren't many staff to do the job. We had lots of amenities in the room, kettle toaster hob fridge and lots of utensils. Which helped us out no end with an 8 month old. I think the food was fine, plenty of fresh fruit and salad, which I eat but my kids don't nor does my husband. So they didn't feel like there was much choice, but I do think for a small complex there was plenty of choice. Others, I'm sure would disagree. I don't think you could call this complex all inclusive, more like half board as mealtimes we're set and there was no offering of a snack bar throughout the day. Plenty of alcohol and drinks available for the kids which were all fine. The kids and us made so many friends who were all lovely people. We enjoyed swimming in the sea and spotting all the fish.
All in all this complex, I'd say was an 7/10, improvements do need to be made but I think folk on here just wanted to have a moan because it's probably not what there are used to. It was set in a lovely location with a beautiful beach and I can say that all of my family enjoyed it muchly.
